5 out of 5 eggsWould buy again

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Stable, specs match the product page.

After running this ssd as my system drive on a htpc for about 7 months straight I just ran AS SSD Benchmark and got sequential 500.93mb read, 120.20mb write.

Cons: Not as fast as the 256gb force lx or the 128gb force gs.

Other Thoughts: I went with the force lx at the time due to cost savings. The force lx was on sale and was ~$20 cheaper than comparable drives.

3 out of 5 eggsDrive Issues?

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: The drive is relatively fast, and the pricing is a great thing to think about. If you can manage to snag one that actually works and doesn't have issues like mine has, you'd be set on a decently priced 128GB SSD.

Cons: The drive is having issues where it will lock my entire system up for apparently no reasons. After checking system logs it seems there are no logs between the last legitimate restart (updates) and the latest crash. All errors from the crash are wiped, and it acts as if the computer went from being powered on to powering on again with nothing in between, so I can't track down the exact issue with the device, although I do know my system was not having the problem prior to installing this SSD.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Price- I've waited for the price of SSD's to drop in order to replace a 5 yr old raptor system drive running windows 7-64 bit (I saved it as a back up in case this craps out-LOL). It has worked flawlessly for almost 6 months. Quick.

Cons: Doesn't come with a 2.5 to 3.5 bay conversion tray.
SSD's do wear out!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Now I just have to wait until I can get 1TB SSD for under $100.00

5 out of 5 eggsGood cheap upgrade

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Bought two on sale, and received Corsair MIR, it's color is green and black, they're quite fast for a mid-range SSD. My PC boots up before I know it.

Cons: Not really a con, but it's not the best for games unless it's an MMO.

Other Thoughts: After installing these drives, I was mind blown at the speed. Make sure you download Corsair SSD Toolbox, the SSD doesn't come with a CD. I wasn't aware that you need to allocate space for Overprovision. Once in the OS, you can't do it on the boot drive.

4 out of 5 eggsGood drive in the right application

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: This is a good drive for the money. from Taiwan

Cons: A little slower write speed., but ok.
Good for mobile storage.
Not best choice for system drive.

Other Thoughts: This looks like newer technology than LS series.
Good price, performance in the right application.
CR.. still rules.

5 out of 5 eggsi wish i could at to a previous review

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: after the first drive failed i was temped to send them all back, but i decided to give corsair another chance after how much i enjoy there other product. to get the drive replaced wasn't as much of a hassle as i thought it would be, it was quick and easy. i now realize that i had just got a lemon, so i bump my review up to 5 stars for good customer service and a good product

Cons: well the only con is that the one of my three drives failed on me only after three days, but the new one is running great

Other Thoughts: if your ever debating ordering of new egg i highly recommend it, the service is great and shipping was quick

also neweeg should really allow you to edit past review

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD for not a lot of $

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Great SSD! I use it for my OS boot and Arma, it loads my OS (8.1) in 7.5 seconds, and Arma 3 with about 15gb of mods in no time, with no texture popping like it does with just a HDD

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish I had went with a little bit bigger storage, but at this price point, I'll probably grab the 240gb drive in a few months and use that for gaming and use the 128 for OS and software

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

This review is from: Corsair Force LX Series CSSD-F128GBLX 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: For the price - this drive is very effective. Going from a standard 7200 RPM drive (or 2 in RAID 0) makes a wonderful difference.

Cons: It might not be as fast as the high-end drives, but it's still a quantum leap from a mechanical drive.

Other Thoughts: I have a Crucial SSD in my main laptop and a Samsung SSD in my main desktop - these are faster than the Corsair, but cost a lot more too. I have OCZ SSDs in another laptop and a mini-ITX ATOM setup that aren't as fast, but they're also hampered by the chipset throughput and 2GB memory max. The Corsair falls between somewhere, but again - it's more about the Corsair's VALUE.
