Solid-state storage that's fast, compatible, and easy to install.

Replacing your mechanical hard drive with fast, reliable solid-state storage is a smart performance upgrade, and Force Series LX SSDs help make it easy. They have a slim 7mm form factor for compatibility with thin and light notebooks as well as standard desktop systems. SATA 3 support provides optimal speed on the latest systems, and backward compatibility with SATA 2 also makes them ideal for upgrading older PCs.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: It's an SSD that doesn't do anything interesting--just like it should. It just sits inside my laptop and works.

Cons: There does seem to be a decent number of reviews with duds. Hopefully Corsair has figured this out.

Other Thoughts: Rebates with Corsair are always a bit unpleasant. They have more-than-average hoop jumping.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent SSD to this point

Pros: Snappy, no issue SSD. Hoping for it to stay quick as time goes. Seems pretty quality.

Cons: Not the fastest SSD in the world.

I wouldn't pay current price, but at $80 you can't go wrong.

Other Thoughts: perfect size for an HTPC/streaming

1 out of 5 eggsI guess the reviews tell all

Pros: Cheap, it fit, it worked

Cons: For 3 months. It died a sudden death where nothing including low level format would help out. Now I will be sending this in to, oh joy, get another retread.

5 out of 5 eggsGood entry level SSD

Pros: Cheap
Faster then comparable SSD for same or less price
Great for older laptops or a person on a budget.

Cons: No cons noted.

Other Thoughts: SSD are great upgrades for PCs. They can cut your boot time is 1/4 and programs open much faster then normal HDDs. You may want to consider a SSD upgrade as a cheap option over a full PC upgrade!

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than mechanical

Pros: No spindle noise, no moving parts. A reasonable size for a reasonable price. (Mostly) SSD speeds.

Cons: I haven't benchmarked the drive, but it doesn't seem as snappy as a Kingston V300 I bought for a laptop. I'm not complaining, but I would bet its speeds aren't terribly great.

Other Thoughts: SSDs are the only choice. Until RAM drives catch on (again), stick to SSDs for your system drive.

1 out of 5 eggscorsair force lx 256 (NOT)

Pros: is faster than a standard hard drive, loads win 8 in 10 sec on a hp 2000 amd e-300

Cons: 256gb ssd what a big let down, after installing windows 8, it lists 209gb total, I can understand losing 10 to 15 gb after format, but 47gb, come on.

Other Thoughts: i'll never buy another corsair product

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: NONE

Cons: It shipped in nothing more than the factory packaging inside a bubble envelope, which I'm sure didn't provide much in the way of G-shock protection from the Postal Service handeling.

It died while creating partition table.

Other Thoughts: I was excited to get this drive, it was going to be the new home of Mint 17 on my desktop computer.

I knew there was a problem when Gparted reported it was unable to get the stats on the drive, and I was right. Partition creation failed and the drive was no longer seen by CMOS. Further attempts to boot It resulted in it not showing up in the list of available drives or just locking up the machine when trying to access CMOS.

This is my third Corsair SSD and the second one to to die within minutes of attempting installation. Two out of three drives bad, two different models purchased over a year apart, one a Neutron series and this one a Force LX, tells me Corsair's quality control is lacking or nonexistant.

I'm sending this one back for a refund and will not consider buying another Corsair drive.

4 out of 5 eggsProduct's fine - rebate iffy

Pros: Fast, easy to set up with Corsair software.

Cons: Corsair did a lousy job with the rebate offer. The offer number provided in the PDF isn't valid. You'll have to call the rebate center customer service to get their help. Thanks, Corsair.
