5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've had this drive for a few days and so far it's a champ. Very fast file transfers and works in my car. Some of the reviews here mention a lack of an activity LED - mine has one _inside_ the case, which shines through the plastic and makes the entire case glow.

Cons: All of the retractable drives I've used feel very flimsy with the USB connection extended, and this one is no exception. I've seen a few of these snapped off as well (not with this specific model) and had to solder new connections to get the data off. This one is about par for the course there so it doesn't lose any eggs.

Other Thoughts: I haven't tried the EasyLock software which comes with it. I also haven't tried using it with ReadyBoost but the impressive speed makes me think I'll have to try that soon.

4 out of 5 eggsNo light

Pros: Size/capacity it great.

Like the cap-less retractable design

Cons: No "active" LED. Cannot tell if data transfer is ongoing. All my other thumb drives have one, why not this one?

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent in every way.

Pros: Good capacity to price ratio and surprisingly zippy. It has held up to my daily usage in the IT field.

Cons: The plastic casing seems a little on the weak side.

Other Thoughts: I was hesitant to buy a verbatim product as the last time I had ever used or heard of their products was a 3.5" floppy drive I used in elementary school.

I use the drive to carry an array of tech support utilities, and customer data to and from work sites and I love it. I Will probably be buying a second one.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well for Me

Pros: As a car audio mp3 storage drive, this device works very well. The included software wipes the drive well enough under Windows XP x64, but I downloaded an updated version from the manufacturer's website when I received this product to ensure I wouldn't have problems later as my needs change (I have no use for encryption yet).

Cons: I wish a 128 GB or larger size were available. My 64 GB drive is around 80% full (more than 4700 mp3 files, almost all are 320 kbps CBR transcoded from lossless source).

Other Thoughts: I keep this drive in my car's glove box, connected by extension cable to the rear of the head unit at all times unless I need to add new mp3s. The drive has no problems with ambient temperature extremes common to year-round weather near Detroit Michigan USA (-5F to 105F, moderate to high humidity).

1 out of 5 eggsBad Software

Pros: Good size of memory for something this small

Cons: The software is defective. I was unable to use the product. A call to Verbatim tech support told me to return the product. Downloading the latest version of the software did not help. The message is "log in as priveledged user".

3 out of 5 eggsFailed only after 3 days

Pros: lots of space

Cons: Copied files, had it for few days, then when tried to copy the files back to a different computer, drive was not recognized and ever since was not recognized on any of the machine. Send back for RMA only after 3 days of use.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Reads and writes quickly. Like the retractibility. Easy to spot (Red).

Cons: No complaints

Other Thoughts: Replaced a Patriot XT 32GB as an ok priced more spacious NTFS flash drive. The 32 went back to exFAT and is now the data transfer drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Flashdrive

Pros: Great size, slide in usb connector so you have no cap to loose. Great speed for large transfers. Very happy with purchase.

Cons: Ugly color.

Other Thoughts: stands out so colors not too bad, help to prevent losing it. I needed to reformat the drive to NTSF (right click drive>format>select NTSF) otherwise Large files or large number of files won't fit. After format to NTSF this will go away FAT32 has restrictions but is better if you want to use the readyboost feature.
