Pros: durable casing, retractable drive, high capacity, fast

Cons: spotty coverage - on the fritz after 2 months of no heavy lifting. WIll RMA

Other Thoughts: wanted to love giving it a second chance, we'll see!

4 out of 5 eggsUSB3 drive

Pros: USB 3.0 speeds are great reading or writing to the drive. i purchased this drive to replace another brands USB drive because their write speed was slower than some USB2.0 drives (but read speed was extremely quick). Since i am constantly moving files on and off the drive, i needed a drive that better balance the read/write speeds which this one did well at. The usb case lock mechism feels good and firm.

Cons: the usb case lock mechism is starting the loosen up on moving the drive port out from the case, it just slides out instead of having to push past the lock. but not that big of a deal.

5 out of 5 eggsA big drive for big things....

Pros: Let me say after owning about a dozen different USB Flash Drives this one is by far the best build quality I've used. It is hard, it feels like it could take a beating, and the slide out USB tip actually clicks firmly in place. Most other slide out tips I've used break with ease, this feels very durable. this baby is small for its size, this is a big plus compared to other 64gb drives. It's 2 inches.

Obviously it holds very large files, and has USB 3.0 which supports fast transfers.

Write speed is variable for me it seems. I transferred a 1 gigabyte movie in about 15 seconds. Then transferred a 14 gigabyte movie in about 5 minutes... I've gone as high as 78mbs write speed to as low as 24mbs. This is with a basic 7200rpm WD HD. (Keep in mind I was not "Testing" this drives speed. I had multiple downloads, and other programs running while doing these transfers.)

Cons: No instructions regarding Fat32/NTSF format options. Basically this card can come up as 4gigabytes without formatting it to NTSF which unlocks it's 59.7 gigabyte capacity.

All flash drives advertise a bit bigger then their actual size so losing space should always be expected.

Other Thoughts: A little research goes a long way regarding these drives. This one didn't list it's speed, but Verbatim is a very trustworthy brand which is why I chose it over the competition.

To unlock the full capacity go to MyComputer>Right Click Flash Drive>Format>Select "File System" to NTSF and other options should be Default I believe. This will allow you go use about 60 gigs on it.

Also to increase transfer speeds you can enable "Write Caching". My Computer>Right Click On Drive>Properties>Hardware>FlashDrive>Properties>Policies>Optimize For Performance. This should increase transfer speeds a bit(however I didn't test yet). This feature however in return forces you to "Safely Remove Drive" to prevent data loss. So you save time, but you have to do another mouse click just to unplug it.

This drive is great. I personally pack it with Bluray Rips, and entire seasons of TV Shows, then plug it into my HDTV which accepts USB, and play them right off the drive. Works flawless. Just one of the many reason's I bought it. Although my PC is connected to my HDTV, it's nice to just transfer a weeks worth of watching or more onto the drive, and turn the pc off to save electric. Overall it's just an exceptional product and I highly recommend it. I will do an actual speed test later this week and post results for all as Verbatim hasn't actually stated the speeds of this drive.
