5 out of 5 eggsThis is the fix

Pros: WORKS

Cons: Should have bought it first

Other Thoughts: Fits under the Cooler Master Hyper CPU cooler, this 8GB/stick ram works with the Asus F2A85-V Pro MB I got, put in 2 sticks to replace the Corsair Vengence that was recommended (6 blue screens a day). Not 1 problem since it went in (16GB for now), faster, smoother really makes the MB shine.

4 out of 5 eggsThey are certainly sturdy!

Pros: They were quality for their price tag and they work well. They are able to withstand a lot of pressure.

Cons: Not so much a con but they take a lot of force to install.

Other Thoughts: Packaging was very small.

1 out of 5 eggsYou don't get what you pay for

Pros: None

Cons: Does not run at advertised speed

Other Thoughts: This is supposed to be 1600 MHz, but the spd automatically clocks it to 1333 MHz, and manually setting it to the rated 1600 MHz resulted in a system that wouldn't even post (this was with an Asus P8H77-I and an i3-2120T). Swapping another manufacturer's 8 gig module in and setting it to 1600MHz worked just fine. If it's not going to run at 1600 MHz, then it shouldn't be sold as 1600 MHz. If you decide to try this, remember that you're responsible for the cost of return shipping on a defective item.

Manufacturer Response:

We apologize for the issue you experienced. Kingston's ValueRAM meets the standards set by JEDEC so the memory is designed to run at 1600Mhz. If you still have the part, please call our Support Staff at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and one of our Technical Support Representatives will assist you. Please be sure to have the part on hand if you call in.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

5 out of 5 eggsKingston is the #1 Best Memory Manufacturer

Pros: Tested 32GB (4 of these sticks) in both an MSI Z77 motherboard and an ASUS Sabertooth X79 board. Stress tested with Memtest HCI to 1000% with no errors while running Prime95, no BSODs or problems at all. Also tested with Memtest86+ - 15 passes with no errors. This memory seems to have great compatability with the newest Z77 and X79 boards. I wouldn't worry about the lack of heat spreaders, that is just for show anyway. I'd rather have plain looking memory that ran perfect than some fancy Corsair memory with flashy heat spreaders that kept giving me BSODs (been there, done that). Stay away from all other manufacturers and go with Kingston, you'll be happy you did. These are relatively new kits and I hope Newegg keeps stocking them because I would continue to use them for my business.

Cons: No cons!
