5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: I got two of these to put in my Asus laptop. Quick and easy install and both sticks showed up when I turned it on without any problems. A good price for 4gb of ram.

Cons: No cons.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in Synology DS1515+

Pros: Like the title says, it works my Synology NAS.

Cons: None thus far

Other Thoughts: I always get a tiny bit nervous buying RAM that isn't on the approved list for "specialty" items. PC's and laptops are usually pretty simple, specialty devices can be oddly specific.

1 out of 5 eggshigh density, not low density...Huh?

Pros: Well...It's Kingston, so I'm sure it's fine RAM if you can use it.

Cons: Didn't work in my system. :( Apparently, I need low-density ram for my laptop, which this is not. This is high-density.

Other Thoughts: Watch out for density issues between RAM sticks and system specs. This was totally new to me, and I've been building my own systems for at least 20 years. I tried using this in a Dell Inspiron N5030. From all the research and pricing I did, this seemed like it should have worked. I got it, tried a stick...no boot. Tried the other stick...still nothing. Tried in both slots, any kind of configuration I could. No dice. I contacted Kingston through their chat support, and very quickly was told that my system needed low-density RAM which is no longer manufactured industry-wide. These sticks of RAM are high--density. Kingston support was able to find the low-density model, but cost 3X as much! I paid $22 for these each on sale here at Newegg, but the price they were able to find for me was $66 per stick. Not good. I also asked support where I could have found out about this density issue. They told me it isn't a normally listed spec, so I'll have to call and check with the manufacturer before purchase. That sucks! What a hassle! I hope this helps someone else before they have an issue like mine. This is being posted Sept. 2015. low-density was discontinued "about two years ago" according to Kingston. So this warning will probably be relevant for a while. Keep an eye out if you're servicing a bit of an older system.

1 out of 5 eggsnogo

Pros: looks nice, packed nice, sealed 100% by maker.

Cons: dead, will not work with
HP 8540p laptop. in either slot, (2 max) books and windows 7, 64bit pro.
locks up, instantly (fresh OS install, clean)
this laptop is dual core, i5, 520M processor.. (key to making Dram work)

I have more laptops to try it on, later...
the LP currently has 1, 4gb HP DMM3. 1.5v, and runs perfectly, with this memory... trying to get 8gb , max, (limit on i5 this is)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works as advertised. Installed in a Lenovo laptop to max out the RAM (Yay Lenovo for leaving a slot free and not making me buy 2).

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Ran Speccy before and after installation. Was shocked when Speccy reported operating frequency at 800 Mhz. Did research and turns out that this (and some other utilities) report RAM frequencies incorrectly (by half) due to some technical reason I've already forgotten and perhaps only marginally understood the first time. If you see this don't be shocked like I was.

5 out of 5 eggsInstalled and working well on Synology 1515+

Pros: Price
Compatibility with Synology 1515+ NAS

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: This SO DIMM is not listed as compatible with the Synology 1515+ NAS, but its parameters matched perfectly so I gave it a try since its price was more than 50% the price of the Synology branded memory expansion. It works well after 1 week running. If there are changes I'll let you know.
