5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works, stable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This RAM just works. ECC, very stable. I've been using Kingston RAM for years and never had a problem. This particular stick has been in a server running 24/7 for a month now. Not a hiccup the whole time.

5 out of 5 eggsECC Memory

Pros: This ECC memory is rock solid. Its very reliable and at 8GB seems like a good value.

Cons: No heatsinks. But most server ram does not bring heatsinks/heatspreaders.

Other Thoughts: Good value. Put a few of these in a box and you have a machine full of memory to power your applications or VMs if running a hypervisor.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in my FreeNAS mini-ITX build

Pros: Works in my ASRock E3C226D2I ITX mobo. Kingston's site said it would, but the ASRock didn't show it on the compatibility list. Well, it works so I think the ASRock site just needs updated with 8GB DIMM support capability.

Cons: Besides the higher cost of ECC memory, none.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks on Intel C216 chipset

Pros: I'm not knowledgeable enough to notice any pros over the stock 4GB chip.

It did boot slightly faster.

Cons: I'm not knowledgeable enough to notice any cons.

Other Thoughts: I got 1 stick to test it out first. Getting 3 more for 32GB system.

This is going in a Lenovo E31 Thinkstation build with Xeon E3-1275 V2 CPU and Quadro2000. Used for video editing with Avid Media Composer, Premier Pro, After Effects, and Fusion 6.4.
