5 out of 5 eggs*blinks* time to boot up ......

Pros: I think it has a tiny flux capacitor, since I push my power button and Windows 7 happily launches in seconds, then everything loads at lightning speed as if it knew i was going to boot my pc up from sometime in the future.

Cons: not a gosh diddly darn thing. (newegg has a profanity filter for some reason, how cute! like the internet has to worry about the FCC or something)

5 out of 5 eggsKingston service is good !

Pros: Older Kingston SSDs still working great.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: Just a word about Kingston in general. Over the years we've been using 3 Kingston SSDs, a USB Card Reader, and a lot of RAM memory in our PCs. Some of that memory is up to 10 years old and going strong; the card reader is fine at about 6 years old, and 2 of the SSDs are 3 years old in good working order. One 64GB SSD retained its Read performance but slowed way down on Write performance after a year or so. Kingston quickly replaced it with a newer version at no charge and the replacement has worked perfectly. Also, some years ago we had one RAM memory stick go bad in a gaming PC that was pushed hard every day for years, and Kingston replaced BOTH sticks as a pair. Again, it was handled quickly and without fuss at no cost to us. So, in general, we have found they make good products and, just as importantly, they stand behind their products with good service. You can't say fairer than that ! We also own and like other quality brands of memory and SSD (like G-Skill and Sandisk) so we're not wedded to any one maker.

5 out of 5 eggsFast drive

Pros: Much faster than a mechanical HD. This is my first SSD and I'm super pleased with the boot/shut down times.

Cons: Super nitpick: the mounting brackets provided were a little confusing at first, but that may be because I can be a little dim sometimes.

You could probably get a "better" SSD for the money at this pricepoint, but this drive has been rock solid for me so far and will make any HDD look slow by comparison. You can't really go wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsadded on T60 2008-HC9

Pros: - Price
- Quality package
- Extra kit (brakect + screw + external drive enclosure + USB cable, SATA power adapter)
- extra spacer to convert to SSD from laptop computer HDD

Cons: - Firmware version sticker was covered by extra spacer

Other Thoughts: My Lenovo T60 2008-HC9 laptop has been installed with window XP and worked fine but getting slower. I decided t o put this SSD and window 7. Satisfied speed so far

3 out of 5 eggsGreat speed, encryption however

Pros: Very fast. The kit is really nice to have. The external adaptor works well.

Cons: I attempted to use the BIOS HDD password to enable encryption and things went bad. I know the password and it would let me enter it and move on, but then it would not see the drive after that. So I went back to the BIOS to remove the HDD password and it would not remove. It reported as frozen. Tried rebooting, re-doing ... All to no avail. Kingston did warranty it out, but I'm out shipping and afraid to attempt again. So if you need true FDE, you may be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsSmooth

Pros: Running smooth so far. It's quiet. Visibly faster than your average hard drive. I received all the components that I should have. SATA II capale is good. The cloning software is simply and pretty quick. The mounting bracket is designed to fit a few different ways depending on your system's case. All in all I'm pleased :)

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Better performance now. For the win!!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Performance Boost

Pros: TrueImage Software bundled was quick and easy to use, less than ten minutes, cloned and ready to boot.
Boot Time after post: 9 seconds Shut down: 5 seconds
Windows Index score for drive performance went from 5.9 to 6.8 (I know, the WEI is not the best test, but it is a significant improvement)
I do not play a lot of new games, but Command and Conquer Generals start up time was improved, only slowed by the fact that I'm still using a game disk for playing. Maps loaded impressively fast. Not sure if it's caused by the SSD or the communication between it and the OD, but I did notice some stuttering during game play.
Dawn of War Dark Crusade, completely loaded on the SSD, Starts, Loads, Plays, and Shutdowns twice as fast as on the WD 640GB HDD the SSD replaced.
Even web pages loaded faster.

Cons: None that I can see so far, I am on a SATA II equipped board, will be improving to a SATA III as soon as possible.

Other Thoughts: I am slowly replacing everything in an older HP Slimline PC.
Ok...I can't call it an HP anymore, already replaced the case, PSU, GPU (temp replacement), Soundcard. So far, this SSD has given the most noticeable improvement in performance.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper fast, A great Deal

Pros: This is the first time I have ever used a Solid State Drive and I am very pleased. I used this to speed up my Dell Precision t5400 Workstation. Rund Windows 7 and many games great. Boots up in under 20 seconds and read write speeds are instant compared to my old hdd. The kit comes with materials to install it in a desktop laptop, or as an internal drive, and an extra sata cable. Great warranty

Cons: none so far, but if any arise, it has a great warranty

Other Thoughts: Dell Precision t5400 Workstation
Kingston 120gb ssd
Samsung 1tb hdd
10gb ddr2
Windows 7
2x Intel Xeon E5430 2.67Ghz

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD's

Pros: Thank you kingston for making a great SSD! Put your faith in Kingston product and you will NOT be let down! NewEgg Has never let me down either.

These are great SSD's for the price... I purchased 2 that I put on an INTEL ICH10R 6 port SATA RAID adapter. Works flawless. I built an array of the two to verify they can be used in RAID and the controller recognized them and was able to build an array....

For my O/S install I'm playing with the BETA of win8 so I wanted to test out non-RAID first with the O/S.. They Installed in Win8 by setting the BIOS to IDE. AHCI doesn't appear to work with SSD V+200's as Kingstons website advises AHCI to be disabled.

I used ATTO to benchmark them on the ICH10R (SATA II) in IDE mode and got 225MB read and 203 write. Not bad at all.

Cons: Only con is that the included SATA cable is not SATA III like the drive... You will still get SATA III speed over the provided cables, however SATA III cables have different ISO standards and the cables have retention clips... The ones provided do not.

Other Thoughts: The Upgrade bundle is sweet. The Kingston cloning software is cool too! If you have any questions on how to use it, Kingston has provided detailed videos you can find on the web.

In other thoughts, I was so impressed with these drives that I ordered 4 more. However those 4 were purchased as the 120GB stand alone versions of these drives. I will be using all six drives to setup a RAID 5 array and will post benchmark results when I do my review. Be sure to check the stand alone 120 gb of these for the review if your interested in Benchmarking results of the RAID 5 array on the Intel ICH10R controller.

Thank you for reading my review and I hope you were able to find something useful from it!
