1 out of 5 eggsDisaster

Pros: Did its job while it worked.

Cons: After a year of extremely light use the weak solder has broken off inside and the key is no longer recognized. Little did I know this ALWAYS happens. I've lost irreplaceable memories. I will never buy a Kingston product again.

5 out of 5 eggsGood budget USB 3.0 drive

Pros: - Good transfer rates over USB3.0, 50MB/s write, 160MB/s read (when reading/writing from an SSD)
- USB2.0 speeds close to high end 2.0 sticks: 20MB/s writes, 30MB/s reads
- Standard USB stick size. Doesn't get lost in your pocket or anything.

Cons: - Nothing really. You're buying a budget 3.0 stick.

Other Thoughts: This was one of the first USB3.0 sticks available from Kingston and I absolutely love it. At first I wasn't that impressed because the USB2.0 transfer speeds are nothing to write home about, although they were on par with good USB2.0 sticks but once I got an USB3.0 motherboard, oh boy! Also I saw that I was limiting the read speed since on an HDD I was getting 60MB/s reads but once I got an SSD the transfer rate went to 160MB/s. Yeah, there are faster drives but they usually go for twice the price of this.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small; fast transfer rate

Cons: Stick became "write-protected" and cannot be formatted

Other Thoughts: I liked this stick, right up until it became write-protected and unusable. I have tried altering the registry, formatting the stick; but nothing works. So this has become a dead device. I have data sticks that still work 8 years later. This one worked for 8 months. Very disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsFailed after 2 months

Pros: Worked great and was fast.

Cons: Failed after 2 months.

Other Thoughts: Called Kingston and they were able to swap drive with no cost to me since it was with in 90 days. They even sent me a return label. Waiting on new drive hope to have better luck with this one.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasts...

Pros: Great price, decent design, works well when it does.

Cons: Died within two months with the dreaded "drive is write protected" error. Can't format or fix at all. Had to RMA it. These are apparently quite prone to this error, caveat emptor.

Other Thoughts: I gave it 3 eggs even though it died out so quickly because:

1) Kingston has a solid reputation and they take care of their clients. I had an RMA number within a few days.
2) While it worked, it worked amazingly well. Great speeds.

I'll be shocked if I don't get a replacement from Kingston within 1-2 weeks.

5 out of 5 eggsA very good USB 3.0 flash drive

Pros: Runs fast. Not too hot during data transmission. Very good quality.

Cons: I don't like its design. Could be more simple.

1 out of 5 eggsNot USB 3.0!!!

Pros: None whatsoever.

Cons: Simply put this is a USB 3.0 compliant drive, and not a USB 3.0 drive. This is a rip off, misleading product. Read all the reviews, and you will see. My last Kingston product, for sure.

Other Thoughts: Let the buyer beware, so to speak....

1 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0 compliant, not 3.0 speeds!

Pros: It was light and small with a secure cap, and it was recognized on two PCs without issue. Smooth RMA process (so far).

Cons: The speeds of this drive were NOT USB 3.0, and their wording is misleading. This is a 3.0 compliant drive, not an actual 3.0 super-speed drive. During benchmarks, it had write speeds of 6-7 MBps and read speeds of 15-17 MBps (using HD Tune). A True USB 3.0 drive should easily be over 40 MBps write and over 100 MBps read, right?

Other Thoughts: Kingston Customer Support was very nice and quick in its response, but it told me to buy a better (faster) flash drive: "Our DT111 is our entry level USB 3.0 complaint drive. It meets 3.0 hardware and interface compliancy. A compliant drive means that it provides reasonable measures of acceptability. USB products that pass this level of acceptability are therefore 3.0 compliant. ... If speed is important you may wish to consider one of our other faster drives." With some digging on their website, the speeds are viewable (this drive says "Standard speeds"), but this info was not forthright and evident:

I hope this helps some people. Cheers!

5 out of 5 eggsgood 32gb drive

Pros: Backs up all of my files that I need for the 4 computers we have in the house.

Cons: of course like all flash drives, actual space avalible is around 29gb and not 32gb.

Other Thoughts: Bought this drive when it was $27.99 as a back up to my 16GB Drive which stores all 4 of the households PC system files like essential drivers etc. It also stores all my music, game saves etc. Does its job well.
