Write starts high around 45MB/S then drops to 5MB/S after 4 seconds. Read 40-50MB/S never higher. The read speeds are slightly higher than USB 2.0 but this is in no way shape or form what should be considered USB 3.0. Sure the plug is blue but this thing would be returned it if was my own purchase and not a gift. Other Thoughts: Do not buy.
