Boot time is a bit slower, but once up Apps picked up speed considerably. Price was a bonus, under $85 for Apple Memory, I'm thrilled. This review is from: Kingston 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model KTA-MB1600LK2/16G Pros: Memory snapped in with no problems. My Mid-2012 13" MacBook Pro instantly recognized the memory, took a few minutes (2-3) to boot and operates normally; only with 16GB of memory! When I checked about this Mac, Memory displays 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. I will still want to try different apps to see how my MacBook Pro reacts, but so far, sooo good! Cons: None. Other Thoughts: Although Apple wants you to max the memory at only 8GB, 16 GB will work. I was leary about buying and installing, but have the confidence that it will work. This review is from: Kingston 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory for Apple Model KTA-MB1600LK2/16G Pros: Easy installation. Works with my macbook pro mid 2012 13". Just after installation the laptop gave me a warning. Three beeps kept repeating as bootup began. Removing and reinstalling the RAM fixed it. I haven't had any problems since. I can run all my important programs simultaneously with no issues now. Cons: None really. 16GB is a little overkill for most things. But any time I have to run parallels desktop the difference is very clear. Memory use spikes to over 9GB and the laptop still runs smoothly. Other Thoughts: Apple shouldn't even sell laptops with 4GB of RAM. The OS itself takes more than that. Did you find this review helpful? Thanks for the valuable feedback you provided!
