Other Thoughts: I bought this for the new computer my parents had me build. I figured I would get a really good drive and never have to worry about their computer. But after trying to figure out why it just wasn't booting as fast as it should, and why it would randomly pause, and why it was slow to load things at times, after all that. I finally figured out what the problem was after windows suddenly told me "There are errors on your drive, restart to fix". I thought to my self "could it be the drive?"
So the other day I bought a cheaper brand drive for the same price, but twice the size. I imaged everything over onto the new drive and Bam. The computer is working exactly as it should now.

So this drive is bad, but the smart data says it's good. I have updated the firmware and that didn't change anything. I don't know if I can even rma it while it technically still works, at least it didn't lose any of my parents new pictures, I'll give it that.
I do also have to give props to Plextor for their firmware update program though, it can update the drive through windows, while it's running windows and it did not erase it like most other manufacturers.

Pros: Top Speed in Raid 0 which is all that counts.
Came well packaged. In fact award winning packaging.

Cons: I am nervous about the reported failures of the drive as listed in the Newegg Reviews. The software was useless if you set the Plextor up as a raid pair like everyone I know does.
Given the premium for Plextor the IBM 5 series is better value and has proven reliability.

Other Thoughts: I tried to buy a raid pair from Newegg but they only had one Plextor left so I bought elsewhere at a slightly better price offset by sales tax. The raid 0 pair off the motherboard worked fine and I got only slightly better scores than with the Intel 5 series SSDs I have been using. All scores for read are over 1000 for both Intel and Plextor.
I then tried the Plextor raid pair off of an intel controller card. This card is normally used on regular hard drives raid 0 for a set of 4 and gives impressive results. You don't need to buy SSDs except to boot as you want the arrays much bigger than the MBR boot drive limit of 2TB. Well the result was a Passmark score ( using their scoring system ) of 15249.7 which beats about half of the top 100 on the Passmark top machines list! Wow! I only used Two! The top 100 machines bundle more than that into their Raid 0 Array!
To be fair the score of the Plextor off the mb raid array was ordinary around 5000. The OZ Revo is around 7500.
We will see about the reported failure rate. I heavily use the Intel SSDs 5 series and have zero failure rate. The Plextor software was useless as it did not cover raid pairs. Everyone I know uses the SSDs like that! Packaging and presentation was brilliant but of course we all purchase for performance and reliability. If you regularly buy SSDs give the Plextor a try and see! If One OFF probably Intel 5 series is a better choice until Plextor has a better track record.

Pros: very fast and worked great...

Cons: died on me for no reason. will try to rma under warranty as newegg return is gone.

Other Thoughts: i hope this is a fluke.

Pros: Extremly fast with or without turbo on(crystal disk marked read/write both over 100MB's). ITS GOLD!

Cons: It died pretty fast and it seems I can't get another from newegg.

Other Thoughts: If it didnt die, it would be 5 eggs. Its the fastest thing I've ever had, but not the longest life.
