Great Combo Unit
- Pros: If you're considering a card reader and don't have a floppy drive in your computer, why not kill two birds with one stone?
- Cons: Had to study the instructions for connecting the internal USB connector several times before I felt secure about hooking it up, but you can go to Siig's website and download the manual before purchasing if you want to confirm that you'll have no problems with the installation. The motherboard connector itself does not lock in place (not Siig's fault) and if you play around inside your computer you will want to be careful that you don't knock it loose.
- Other Thoughts: If you've never owned a digital camera and/or card reader before, this unit is going to be a big thrill.
Won't work with our motherboad!
- Pros: As part of our gaming computer upgrade we selected an EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard. We didn't realize until it was to late (no return on the MB), that this motherboard doesn't support a floppy disk drive. To compensate for this deficiency, we purchased the SIIG JU-91RB12-S5 9-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader /W FDD. This device had a floppy drive & memory card readers, all in one!
- Cons: Here's the problem. The SIIG JU-91RB12-S5 9-in-1 USB 2.0 Card Reader /W FDD does have a floppy disk drive, but it "not" USB! The memory card readers are USB, but the floppy disk drive requires a motherboard that supports a floppy disk drive!
- Other Thoughts: Other Thoughts:
I'm giving 3 eggs, since deep in the System Requirements, it kinda sorta says the floppy disk needs a connection to the motherboard. IMO, this should be spelled out in the Overview!
READ "System Requirement: Feature", before you buy so you know what's required to support this device!
On the positive side, Newegg did give me a full refund, so I'm only out the shipping. Thank you!:)

Won't work with our motherboad!

Nice Unit But...
- Pros: Perfect for what I needed -- floppy & card reader in one drive bay.
- Cons: $50 bucks?!!
- Other Thoughts: I bought one of these used off a well-known auction site & was looking to buy another. That price seems really high considering the cheap one-piece plastic 5.25 adapter included (instead of a higher-quality metal-framed one). Unfortunately, it's the only white one available here (why is it that white/beige drives are becoming harder to find?).
Has Potential?
- Pros: I like the combo concept. Great if it works.
- Cons: Had to RMA.
- Other Thoughts: Installed this unit. Got the usb/card readers to function fine by connecting to MB. This was great. Floppy did not work. Tried 2 different cables. Pain in the rear because I had to install a Raid driver from a floppy (thx Microsoft) and could not get this to work. Used a regular floppy just fine. I spent way too much energy on this device. I am going to RMA it.
