Ordered another for work
- Pros: Inexpensive and small enough to carry around or keep in a drawer. No issues with reading various cards from different manufacturers. ,
- Cons: None really
- Other Thoughts: Recognized in linux without any hassle. Ordering one for work.
Simple As That
- Pros: 12 In 1 for the price, I couldn't possibly find anything better for what I need it for.
- Cons: More colors to choose from would of been nice.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this as a replacement for my digital camera since I had lost the cable that lets me connect it to the computer in order to get all that stuff out. Since then I had to use my fathers digital camera to do that but found it a bit of a nuisance having to look for it and ask him every time. I decided instead of shelling out around the same price for getting a replacement compatible chord for the camera, I decided just to get this reader which in turn has been 12 times more useful than just 1 chord for 1 camera.
Works well
- Pros: I use it for the sony memory card for my camera because I lost the cable. This thing works beautifully. It does feel cheaply made as one reviewer noted, but inserting/removing the memory card feels very sturdy and secure.
- Cons: The cord that comes with it is only a few inches long. Not really a con, but my USB ports are on the top of my rig, so this thing just dangles off the front and doesn't want to rest on the top of the case. A cord 3-4 inches longer would've been awesome, but I'm being nit-picky.
- Other Thoughts: Lifesaver! After I lost the cord to my camera, I thought I was in trouble. I tried a few all in one card readers and none of them worked at all for my sony cards. This thing was an answer to a prayer!
