Pros: Had a small footprint and worked well at first. Looks neat.

Cons: After two months of use, I found that my PC would not get past POST. After a thorough process of elimination, I found that removing this card reader would fix the issue. Other adapters and external drives worked fine. Putting this adapter back broke POST again. There were no hardware changes or BIOS updates that I can think would have led this to happen. For the first two months I could boot the PC with no issue while this reader was connected. A month after this and the reader can't read or write SD cards anymore. During extended reads/writes (more than 10 seconds), Linux will report that the USB device was disconnected and then the reader will be assigned a new device node. At first I thought it was a bad SD Card, so I grabbed another and found the same results. Then I used a different brand reader, and it resulted in much faster transfers and no disconnects. Something's definitely wrong with this reader, I'm not sure if it's a design issue or if I got a bad reader.

Pros: Use this to load music and audio books from my computer to my phone and MP3 player's MicroSD cards - no more relying on flakey connections in a SD carrier. Also use it for downloading the SD card from my DSLR camera, which is all I need. It's small, simple, rugged, cheap, has no attached wire, has no installed crapware and takes no more room than a thumbdrive.

Cons: Since it's only the size of a thumbdrive, it's easy to lose down in the recesses of my laptop case.

Other Thoughts: Have recommended this product to others many times.

Pros: For the longest time, I'd been seeking a device to help read SD cards. As a photographer, I have gigabytes upon gigabytes of images and videos. Finding the cable for my PC only extends the time it takes to upload everything. This reader is so fast, it's almost as if I used the cable itself and works instantaneously. Definitely worth the price.

Cons: None, you get exactly what you paid for at the best quality.

Pros: I love this thing. When I was on vacation it worked with the app 'stick mount' on my rooted Nexus 7. Used an OTG cable to plug into the tablet and plugged the IOGear into the OTG. I used it to read my cameras SD card and upload photos to the web with just my tablet.

Cons: It died after 2 years, but it's so cheap I will just buy two more.

Pros: I owned several of these over the years. It mainly use to run bootable ISOs, unlike some other sdcard readers, this one get detected by all the PC's boot menus and work everytime. I also tend to lose the smaller sdcard readers, this one is bright green and a bit larger so there is less change of losing track of it.
