Pros: It reads the card, after installing the proper drivers.

Cons: Nowhere in the documentation does it say it will require the drivers to install; it does work plug-and-play until you reboot, then it refuses to read the card until the proper drivers are installed from the IOGear website.

Other Thoughts: IOGear really should do more than just punt their users to the military helpdesks, when it's an issue with their own CAC drivers. I would never have found out if it weren't for the Army Enterprise Service Desk telling me about needing to install the IOGear drivers. It's really lousy of IOGear and poor customer service to direct people to their military helpdesks, when it's a problem with their CAC reader.

If you get a red LED when connected , Green and red with your card, the card reader is working with your computer. At that point you need to setup the military side of the software. Cons: IOGear does not offer synchronous API drivers. As such this device may not operate will all programs. No indication of card insertion direction.

Pros: I'm an NCO, so I wind up working from home quite often. I bought this for my Windows 8 PC, and I've had 0 problems out of it. Follow the instructions on MilitaryCAC, and you'll be golden.

Cons: I can't think of any cons. It does exactly what I want it to do.

Pros: It works... it does its job and is nice and sleek.

Cons: The drivers don't have much in the way of Common Access Card (CAC) software. It took quite a while to find the correct drivers and certificates to get it to function... and that's for me, an experienced computer enthusiast. I can't fathom how long it'd take for an amateur.

Pros: Works with CAC credentials. WIN7 instantly installed without a hitch. About half the going cost of any other CAC reader I have seen.
