Cons: Specifications listed it would read SmartMedia cards, it does not. At least the one I received does not have a SmartMedia slot.
I primarily purchased it to read SmartMedia cards. Ok, so thought I could use it for CF cards. NO, CF pins bent on arrival.

Pros: Works fine once you hook up a USB 2.0 cable. Apparently the cable supplied is not 2.0 compatible. Thus I had all of the same problems as other reviewers.
Once I uninstalled the "Unknown devices" it left in Device Manager and hooked up with USB 2.0 cable, the reader was recognized and generic drivers installed without a hitch.
Data transfer was good even though I only tried out the SDHC slot.

Cons: Wrong cable included. I guess you could find a USB 1.0 port to hook it up to, but that's kind of a waste. Actually I did first hook it up to USB 1.0 slot on my keyboard and it gives a message that it can perform much faster on USB 2.0. Oh well!

Other Thoughts: Does all I need it to do. Canon HFS100 camcorder has some really buggy software included and literally takes hours to download a few gig of video. This reader reduces that down to minutes.

Cons: Cheap quality. I can get it to read SD cards, but it won't read any of my CF's.

Other Thoughts: This is a cheap piece of junk. Would not read 6 out of 7 different cards that I put in it including CF and SD cards. I sent it back for a refund. Find something else.

Cons: It does not read SD cards. Tried 5 cards in 4 PCs. Always gives I/O error.

Pros: HAHAHA FUNNY NADA

Cons: too many but most importantly it doesnt work on either of my computers. The power LED lights up that's it even if I put a SD/miniSD/MS/MS duo pro I get nothing but either no respones or "Need to insert disk" what's funny was that it showed all 4 drives even when there isnt any disk in it
