Pros: Installed into customer's custom built comp. Snug, but still an easy fit in the CoolerMaster Centurion tower. This device requires a mother board with JUSBs. The MSI K8N Neo4 has 3 JUSBs on the board, so no problem with connecting. Research suggested for your specific application. Driver CD included is for Win 9x/ME. Windows XP will auto detect. Supplied manual is skimpy on information. Certain cards will require an adapter to read according to information on the box. I would have given this unit a '5 Egg' rating but for what follows.
Cons: Yep, there were a few cons. After installing the unit was not lit up indicating no power. As a result XP didn't detect. Smartly I had read the previous reviews. Specifically the one posted by Tivon on February 5th alerted me to potential modifications. [Thanks Tivon!] Removed unit, opened it's enclosure, [no tools required BTW] & internal inspection found that the cable plug was disconnected from the enclosure's circuit board pins. Sloppy QC on Sabrent's part. Also, nothing holds the wire in place where it exits the enclosure. At least not on the unit I received. Since the cable is generously long, I tied an overhand loop in the cable inside the enclosure, effectively preventing it from being pulled to the point of disconnecting from the internal pins. I also used a sewing needle to remove the black wire pin from the connectors at both ends of the cable. An easy task. Reinstalled, booted computer, & lights glowed & XP did it's job. Tested unit with a USB 2.0 Corsair thumbdrive. Not a
Other Thoughts: Because of Sabrent's poor quality control, a manual lacking in information, the disconnected cable & the needed wiring modifications, I can just only barely give this unit a '3 Egg' rating. Let's do better Sabrent!

Pros: Reads media and a great replacement for my floppy drive. No problems with the drive at all
Cons: stand by LED is on 24/7 my case has a door so this doesn't bug me, but it might others.
Other Thoughts: For those concerned with device labels the best way to make sure that the card reader doesn't get labeled before your other drives is to make all of your partitions durring installation before installing windows.
The windows installer will automatically put your cd roms before the media readers but non created partitions will not receive letters and that could annoy you.
On Linux this is not an issue as the /dev identifiers will be unique to the hard drive and rom identifiers.

Pros: It supports all the cards that I don't use!
Cons: Fitment is really tight. You need to use forcepower and be dead on accurate when you try to stick a card in the reader. Only lets you use a single card at a time.
Other Thoughts: I don't like the fact that its extremely shallow. A compact flash only goes in about 1/8th its size and that's it. I guess that might just be a personal preference.

Pros: None
Cons: I fI could give this zero I would. This is very cheaply made. The duo slot reader came with bent pins and some not full seated. Was wondering if it was previously used??? You had to hold the chip down to get it to read. The pins are cheap and easily bent. Of course by the time I actually try the duo slot my 30 days are up. Very disappointed with the gear and my inability to return it.
