2 out of 5 eggsRMA worked!

Pros: update to review of 12-31-2012.
Replacement card arrived today from Silicon Power in Taiwan. Get an RMA from the website and it's just over a buck to mail. Turnaround was 6 weeks.

Cons: It shouldn't be necessary to go through this.

1 out of 5 eggsPurchased 9/12, Dead 2/13

Pros: Class 10, moderately large capacity

Cons: My Galaxy S3 reported "No SD Card" today, to my surprise. Check the card on my PC and it's dead. Card comes with a 2 yr warranty - starting an RMA right now but you know what a pain that is. STAY AWAY from this one.

1 out of 5 eggsThis card isn't even worth the shipping and it's FREE.

Pros: This card doesn't qualify for a single positive notation. I wouldn't even offer a positive excerpt. There's nothing positive about this card, except; you positively don't want to waste one penny on this card. You positively want to look elsewhere before exerting the energy required to even read the specifications for this 'Piece of Excrement'.

Cons: There's a sucker born every minute and you don't have to be the next one. This card won't format. This card won'' read or write. This card won't erase. This card is not recognized by any of my phones or tablets. This card only registers as a blank card. I have barely used this card in the 5 months since I owned it. It has now flat lined with no possibility of resuscitation.

Other Thoughts: Be wise: Look for buy or purchase the card with the LIFETIME warranty.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't buy

Pros: none at all

Cons: Had trouble formatting & should have quit right there. Bought for a tablet & spent too long trying to get it to recognise let alone copy files. Gave up & sent it back.

Bought Sandisk & no issues at all.

Other Thoughts: 2 eggs because Newegg was easy to deal with. Instant RMA & prompt refund

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Plenty fast for what I was using it for (supplementing phone memory). Cheap and came quickly

Cons: This problem seems endemic with Galaxy SIII phones but, like many other reviewers, my card was working fine for a few months before it just up and died. At first, my phone said the card had been removed (it hadn't) and every once in a while, it would recognize the card but throw a "blank card" warning (it was at least half filled with music, movies, and pictures). Unfortunately, my laptop will no longer read the card either so the data's gone.

Galaxy SIII's have been frying MicroSDs for a bit but it looks like its a major problem for this card in particular. I'd steer clear unless you like having your data wiped

Other Thoughts: Great while it lasted but not stable. Stay away

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this card

Pros: Got the cards on sale

Cons: I purchased a pair of these MicroSD cards on sale. After about 4 months of use both began to show file corruption and read/write issues. After 5 months both cards are now dead. Contacted Silicon Power, but to even start the RMA process you have to mail the RMA request form and any defective products to Taiwan.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad I got these cards on sale, because at least they were less of a waste of money. Avoiding Silicon Power for any future purchases of memory products.
