It IS in fact waterproof (has been submerged in water up to an hour at a time), it is dustproof (has been on the dirty ground and exposed to livestock grime) and it is vibration proof as it has banged against metal tags that are on the ring with it through all kinds of activities. If you're looking for something for your keys...this would be just the thing. This is one tough little flash drive. I have had it several months under these conditions. Great price. Ideal for medical alert purposes for those with med conditions. I can't say enough good things about it. Cons: It says it wants to check for errors when I put it in but I think that has to do with the password protected area on it and not the drive itself...I just tell it to go ahead without checking and all is good every time. I replaced the little ball chain on it with a very small split ring and a small snap hook for easy removal and replacement onto items and devices. Other Thoughts: This thing IS waterproof, dustproof, vibration proof. I wear it with emergency medical info around my neck and I don't take it off for stuff like showers and baths. I wear it in the shower, tub, for work, for play. It has been submerged when I have taken a bath for long periods..no problem it has been exposed to all kinds of livestock dirt, it has banged against metal tags on the ring with it and nothing phases it. It took the info quickly and easily (including the password protected area I installed on it). As soon as I can afford it I am going to buy MORE! Sturdy design. Probably a great drive but... Cons: took out of package, ran Check Flash 1.16.1 (under Wine in Debian Linux) and ran tests. 12 errors in short pattern test, 15 and still counting in full pattern test. Not acceptable. Other Thoughts: Great service from Newegg RMA thats all I need to say. Will be returning for a different brand tho, didn't know it was so hard to find a reliable flash drive these days. 2nd attempt for a music drive for a Sony car unit. Did you find this review helpful?
