1 out of 5 eggsNot a Blaze anymore -VERY slow

This review is from: Silicon Power SP032GBUF3B20V1K Blaze B20 Flash Drive 32GB Entry Level USB 3.0-Black

Pros: None now. Got couple of these earlier in the year and they were quite fast. Got 2 more a month ago..read the CONS

Cons: Recently purchase 2 of these USB 3 32g flashdrives and it's not the same product, as previous 2. Not easily recognized by my desktop and write speed is 1/3 of what the previous ones were. Not usable.
Silicon Power TS phone 1-520-490-1885 is not being answered. Not even a silly ans machine.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap USB 3.0 But with Performance Issues

This review is from: Silicon Power SP032GBUF3B20V1K Blaze B20 Flash Drive 32GB Entry Level USB 3.0-Black

Pros: Price, Design

Cons: Performance

Other Thoughts: Cheap USB 3.0 Drive. Design is Great. But Performance is not great. Am often getting "Not Responding" message on Windows. Not sure only the unit I received has this issue.

1 out of 5 eggsPoooor quality

This review is from: Silicon Power SP032GBUF3B20V1K Blaze B20 Flash Drive 32GB Entry Level USB 3.0-Black

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Only took two days to quit working. If you treasure your data then leave it alone. Never buy cheap junk for anything that matters.

4 out of 5 eggsGood and Bad

This review is from: Silicon Power SP032GBUF3B20V1K Blaze B20 Flash Drive 32GB Entry Level USB 3.0-Black

Pros: Storage space
Low Price
LED Indicator

Cons: SLOW
Cannot attach to keyring
Takes multiple attempts to transfer files

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. This is a bargain barrel USB Drive. You are paying $10 to get 32GB of storage, that is a good deal. So of course there is a trade off, and that is that this thing is woefully slow. As I type this, I just finished transferring 6.25GB of movie files. The estimated time says 1 hour, but in reality it got it done in about 20-30min. Thats a long time...

The reason I bought this USB drive was to transfer movies between my main PC and my living room PC to watch movies downstairs. Prior to the USB Drive I had been dragging my large plug-in-the-wall external hard drive from 2009 up and down the stairs just to transfers files. At least the External Hard Drive could read/write the files at a decent clip. This USB drive is slow...
Also, not every file I transfer is working the first time I try and transfer it On certain files, I have to try and transfer it more than once, sometimes unplug and replugging the device. Worst yet, I cannot even discern why it happens to some files and not others when they are the same file type.

I have only owned the device for less than a week, so I cannot speak to the longevity of the product. I hope it lasts, it does come with a "lifetime warranty."

It does get warm to the touch, but definitely not hot. The keyring slot is a joke, there is absolutely no physical way you can fit the device onto your keyring. Not something I need, but I tested it out and it is laughable. - "From where I am standing, sir, it is physically impossible for me to have touched your behind." - That kind of impossible.

Overall, you get what you pay for, and you cannot be too harsh of a critic. $10 for 32GB of storage that does do what it is designed to do, even if it takes a few attempts.

4 out of 5 eggs. If my device fails or I encounter further problems, I will edit my review.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap not inexpensive

This review is from: Silicon Power SP032GBUF3B20V1K Blaze B20 Flash Drive 32GB Entry Level USB 3.0-Black

Pros: Low Cost with USB 3.0 and a slide function to protect the connector

Inexpensive enough for a "single use" file transfer device.

Cons: Reliability/Durability
Performance
Usabliity

Other Thoughts: Purchased three of these when they went on sale a little over a month ago.

Opened the first one, and copied some files to it for a non-networked PC. First file transfer worked fine although I was shocked at how slow it was. Second transfer the file was corrupted. When I removed the drive from the PC the slide broke so the connector just stays tucked away in its little cubby hole.

There is no point in having a USB3.0 connector on this stick either. Read and Write speeds are both well below USB 2.0 capabilities.

The second drive will not function as a Windows 7 USB installation drive. Despite being used on a USB 2.0 port.

The third drive was never opened and will just be returned with the other two drives.

You get what you pay for, I will stick with ONE good USB drive versus having three that are essentially useless.

2 out of 5 eggsSometimes slow, sometimes fast, mostly cheap

This review is from: Silicon Power SP032GBUF3B20V1K Blaze B20 Flash Drive 32GB Entry Level USB 3.0-Black

Pros: 32 GB of storage and cheap price.

Cons: Like I said it's cheap, and it shows. Stick seemed fast at first but then it slowed down considerably. The latch on the cheap plastic casing is now busted and stuck. When I can push it out the USB plug doesn't come with it. I have to flip my wrist to get it to come out but because the latch is busted when I plug it in it gets pushed back into the cheap plastic casing.
Won't be buying another one from Silicon Power.

Other Thoughts: Bought this on a whim to replace my trusty 16GB stick as it was on sale for ten bucks. I guess I'll be sticking with my old stick as of now.
