Heat spreaders are a welcomed addition. Cons: None, so far. Other Thoughts: For those wondering about the color. My heat spreaders on the memory are black, not white. Bought it on the first of April. Pros: Inexpensive, fast memory, went from 3.5 to 7.1 on Windows Experience Index Cons: none Other Thoughts: Installed this in a Compaq 505B MT desktop, basic no frills system, got for free from a company roll out. Replaced the 1GB factory Dimm with this memory and saw the Windows 7 Experience go from 3.5 to 7.1 for memory speeds. Inexpensive worthy upgrade for a elcheapo desktop. Allows Windows7 to boot but blocks access to bios. When I pulled the memory I could access bios. I installed the memory again and the same problem came back. Not to shabby for some cheap ram. Cons: Glued on heatspreaders mean it is a pain to find out what modules are on the ram. They appear from shape to be Samsung based. Did you find this review helpful? BIOS easily recognized correct timings and size and adjusted accordingly. No errors yet, but we'll see in several months whether is was a prudent choice to try and save a few dollars.
