Team Xtreem Dark Series PC3 12800 DDR3 / DDR3L 1600 4GBx2 Desktop Memory TXD38192M1600HC9DC-D

Team Xtreem Dark Series PC3 12800 DDR3 / DDR3L 1600 4GBx2 Desktop Memory TXD38192M1600HC9DC-D

Team Group Inc. introduced the Xtreem DDR3 1600 with low memory timings for performance benefits to the user.

Even though JEDEC specifications rate DDR3 up to 1600MHz, Xtreem DDR3 1600 offers 17% performance over the current modules on the market at DDR3 1333. Working together with the 1600MHz data rate at just 1.65V, it is not difficult to see the strong R&D capabilities of Team Group Inc. in the products.

At the same time, the memory module is covered in the all-new aluminum heat spreader with the unique X-shaped design. The built-in XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) feature eliminates the hassle of going into the BIOS and offers simple overclocking even for novice users.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems

Pros: Works at advertised speeds once the profile is set in bios.

Cons: Heat spreaders are kinda tall and my TRUE is sitting right on top of the ram, thankfully I have the Rev C with the plastic fan mount and was able to offset my fan slightly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood RAM

Pros: -Much good
-Very work
-So...easy
Aside from that joke...
The heatspreaders on this particular set are nice and I know my RAM won't be having any problems with heat. They are a bit tall, which might be a problem for some who have large CPU fans and DIMM slots near the CPU socket, but it's not a problem for me.

Cons: -Not sharp enough to slice my bread

I was considering taking an egg of for it's inability to slice bread out of the box, but I went back and checked the details of the product to find out that that's not what it was rated for. My bad.

Other Thoughts: Went I first went into the BIOS after setting up my computer, I noticed that the RAM didn't detect as 1600MHz but rather 1333MHz...I went in and changed it manually to 1600, but it makes me question some sort of shady practices from the TeamGroup..

5 out of 5 eggsSo good I bought 2 sets

Pros: - Cheapest Ram that also has a heat spreader attached

-fast 1600Mhz, CL9

it looks good on my motherboard

Cons: -at first the motherboard set to 1333Mhz, but it could just have been my motherboard's fault

Other Thoughts: my motherboard auto set the speed of the ram at 1333Mhz, but I didn't notice untill I was in my bios for another reason

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ram

Pros: It does operate at 1600mhz even though I had to change in bios to set it as such. Have had this ram since mid 2012 and still running normal.

Cons: Not able to read my mind all the time.

5 out of 5 eggsstable on Asus Max V Gene

Pros: cheap! Got it while onsale, picked up two kicks to give me 16gb, cheaper than buying the cheapest 16gb kit and the timing speeds isn't too bad.

X.M.P worked just fine

Cons: though NOT an issue for me, i always hate seeing these fancy heat sinks on ram sticks. I had a previous set from Gskill, and i had to remove (that goodness they give you as easy way to do it) the top fin as it caused problems fitting in my case).

Again, these fit fine as is in my SilverStone SST-PS07B but it could be an issue pending on what you got going on in your case

Other Thoughts: I'm running Server 2012 R2 Essentials that runs several functions so i wanted to have a decent mix of capacity and speed while trying to save a buck. DING!

Again, using the X.M.P profile and using the auto clocking settings for my CPU (i7-3770k @ 4.6ghz), i'm getting a solid stable connection. I have not trying to see how far i can push these sticks past the listed clock speeds.

As always, feel free to gmail me, evilhomerclone

4 out of 5 eggsFast memory with a catch

Pros: Super fast memory.

Cons: As others have said, it's not recognized as 1600 out of the box. That has to be changed in the BIOS. Easy enough to do, but it does make you question the reason.

Other Thoughts: Good RAM after you change it in the BIOS. Upgraded from 8GB of DDR2 to 8GB of this and benchmark scores tripled.
