2 out of 5 eggs2 years, decent run, but starting to become very flaky

Pros: Decent performance. It does what I needed in a 64-bit development for software development. It held up hosting multiple servers and database connections, and held up to lots of load and stress testing.

2 years of a good run.

Cons: 2 years of a good run is short.

DIMMs generally have a much larger lifespan (lifetime warranty, anyone?). I have 5 PC's at home of various permutations of small form factor to full-ATX which are used frequently. All those DIMMs are more than 4 years old, up to 7 years even and they're still running strong.

The DIMMs in those older PCs have frankly outlived this pair of Team Elite 8GB (2x4GB).

BSOD frequency occurred from bi-monthly from a year ago to daily recently. It BSOD shortly before the writing of this review, hence I felt it was needed to address this issue.

Other Thoughts: I must say that this pair of DIMMs are extensively used (8hrs min a day) for software development and testing. It's taking very frequent beating for medium to heavy usage.

The 2-star review is because the BSOD started a year after receiving and using the product. I've mentioned about the BSOD issue, which did not occur frequently from a year ago. That means I've only had 1 year of problem-free performance with these DIMMs. In that light, the DIMMs are very unreliable in my experience.

It was hard to isolate the trigger on a BSOD that is infrequent. Now that occurs on a daily basis, I've managed to isolate the problematic component--unfortunately it's this pair of DIMMs.

I've contacted Team Elite through their website. I did not receive any notification email along the lines of "we received and we'll respond back to you ASAP." That would have inspired more confidence. But to be fair to Team Elite, I'm giving them a chance to respond, and I'll update the review accordingly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood RMA

Pros: Read Frank R's review. It is exactly right. After a year one of the sticks went bad. Tested with Memtest64+. Emailed them their spreadsheet then sent the DRAMs to their California address. New RAM recieved quickly.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Stuff breaks...they replaced it

5 out of 5 eggsQuick RMA

Pros: Good and fast RAM. However, had a bad stick after 2 year of using them. Had to ship it to their California USA Service Center and the RMA was easy to do and extremely fast handled. I almost couldn't believe it but had a replacement within 7 days in my hand. Go TEAM!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Memory sticks can turn faulty (true for pretty much all electronics) and had this happening with memory of other manufactures too. What counts is a manufacturer who stands behind their product. Yes, on their website states that you have to send it to Taiwan, but when your RMA get's approved (in my case, same day) they gave me the CA address in the USA to ship to.

Cons: One stick was bad, Was told the lifetime warranty was a very lengthy process and team elite wanted me to send the chip halfway around the world to them

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues

Pros: Works great, no problems

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Didn't have any trouble with the install and works well with my motherboard (Asus Z87 Pro). Wish I would have gotten a little bit faster RAM, but that's not the RAM's fault. Works as it should

1 out of 5 eggsGood for four months only

Pros: Cheap. Installed for my E3-1230 workstation last November.

Cons: Got a lot of reboots in the last month. Tracked down to the memory. Tens of thousands of failures from memtest. This is the first time I have memory issue.

1 out of 5 eggsWas good for a while

Pros: -fast shipping
-worked for a couple months

Cons: -did eventually stop working
-Probably received a lemon

Other Thoughts: Bought this set of ram last year 11/2012. Had fast shipping from newegg as you would expect. Worked perfectly for a few months then my computer started to blue screen randomly every now and then. Didnt think much of it and used my computer sparingly sparingly after i had bought my laptop from newegg. Just recently wanted to start pc gaming again and during a download my computer blue screened like no other. Ran memtest and of course, have a ram failure. I wish i wouldve tryed this sooner as they are probably out of warranty by now. Trying not to discourage but have to give a low rating because of my experience with it.
