2 out of 5 eggsDidn't work in iMac

Pros: Memory came quickly, well packaged and exactly as ordered.

Cons: This memory has the EXACT specs that are required for my late 2009 iMac. Reading reviews, others have been able to install this memory without issue in my exact model iMac. So I ordered. After installing, it became obvious to me that this memory either is defective or not compatible with my iMac. 3 beeps on boot. Changed the memory around, tried with 1 stick, combo of new and old memory. Nothing worked.

Gave 2 stars because of fast shipping and packaging. Deducted 3 because although memory should work, it doesn't.

1 out of 5 eggsDid NOT work for Late 2009 13-inch MacBook Model 6,1

Pros: None. Did not work for my Late 2009 13-inch MacBook 6,1

Cons: I purchased this RAM based on other reviews compatibility with Late 2009 13-inch MacBook 6,1 models and was confident I made a good purchase since newegg reviews have always been helpful. However, I was truly disappointed when I set the RAM in place and received 3 Memory Beeps. I attempted to re-seat multiple times/slot combos but each time 3 Memory Beeps. Also attempted seating one stick at a time to see if one of the new modules was not functioning, but to no avail. Popped my old 1Gig DIMMs back in and writing this review now.

Other Thoughts: Bummed out that I will need to go through the RMA process. Kills the discount I patiently waited for to finally pull the trigger on the upgrade.

1 out of 5 eggsNO GOOD, NO REFUND.

Pros: Great price, IF it worked.

Cons: Purchased this RAM for a Late 2008 (Aluminum Unibody) MacBook (MacBook5,1) with Boot ROM Version MB51.007D.B03 and SMC Version 1.32f8. With these firmware updates, this system supports an 8GB upgrade. HOWEVER, the TEAM RAM is completely non-functional, and the manufacture took SO LONG to respond to my requests for assistance that I am now stuck with the RAM and out $80. I have been a devoted NewEgg customer for many years, but this is the end of the road for me.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Didn't arrive crushed

Cons: DOA out of the box. Installed in mid 2010 Macbook Pro per recommendations on this site and others with the same model said it worked. Specs matched requirements from Apple. Machine started to boot then kernel panicked. Rebooted, no chime, got to desktop, kernel panic again. Removed RAM, swapped positions and tried again with the same results.

Other Thoughts: Reinstalled stock memory and laptop is working perfectly. System profiler did show the full 8 gb of ram with the new modules installed but the machine would not stay running without kernel panicking for more than about a minute. Going to return the memory.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Made my Early 2009 iMac much faster. Extended its useful life a few year.

Cons: Price is higher then other memory options however the Early 2009 iMac requires these exact specs.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for Gateway P-7811FX

Pros: Price. Dear goodness this stuff is considerably cheaper than everything else out there...
Timing specs listed for this RAM matched timing for my stock RAM so I didn't have to stress out worrying if my computer could force the timings down.

Cons: This product seems to be out of stock like it's going out of style. You just have to keep an eye on it and order it as soon as it comes in I guess.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in my Macbook

Pros: Works in my 2009 MacBook Pro.

Cons: I cannot think of any cons, it is working very well.

Other Thoughts: I am happy that this works in my MacBook. As much multi-tasking as I do on the computer, I wish my MacBook could support more memory than just 8GB. Though, I suppose that was a lot back in 2009.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for Late 2009 13-inch MacBook Model 6,1

Pros: I got this for my MacBook after Mavericks slowed everything down. Not only does it make things faster for Mavericks, but it is noticeably (and satisfyingly) faster than it ever was with 2 gigs of RAM, so I have no reason to complain. Programs like PhotoShop and Illustrator open in seconds instead of minutes and that alone is worth upping the RAM from 2 to 8gigs. Apple's 'official' page on how many gigs of RAM this MacBook supports says 4 gigs max, but that is inaccurate. It can indeed handle 8 gigs of RAM. A must-buy if you have the same MacBook!

Cons: None so far.
