5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's fast, much faster than offerings from other companies at this price range. Even if it doesn't last as long as others, it's got a lifetime warranty (I'll talk more on that in the other thoughts area) and because of its speed there is no good reason to pay more for one of these drives.

It's fairly small, around 2 inches or so in length with a decent cap. The cap fits securely to the back when in use, but honestly, if you are buying a drive with a cap, expect to lose it.

Even though it's made of plastic, it doesn't feel cheap, nothing is loose or feels like it might eventually fall off. That doesn't seem like a thing, but I've had drives with plastic sleeves before, and they do tend to pull off.

I'm going to list capacity, but since that's something you choose when you buy, it's not really a pro. I'm just really happy it was so cheap, so I guess that's the pro here.

Cons: It's made of plastic, so it will wear more quickly than an aluminum cased drive. I had a Team 108 16gb that was awesome for this, but it was lost in the mail during an RMA.

If it's going to fail, it will likely be the insides. This is a fairly common observation with all flash drives, but I feel like there may be some QC issues with Team Group drives. It seems like they might just bank on the really good customer support, and use that to save some cash in manufacturing. That said, it wasn't DOA, so that's a good start, and if my past experience with their products is any benchmark this drive *should* last for several years of infrequent use.

Other Thoughts: For this price, this is a really great drive, with a fantastic RMA service.

While you do have to pay shipping to get a replacement drive, its a pittance when you consider how cheap it is to ship something so small. Having had first hand experience with their support they will do anything to make you happy, even if it wasn't their fault.

When my last drive was lost in the mail, which was my fault for not getting a tracking number, they still make up for it. While they couldn't send me a replacement disk drive, I did get a sample of one of their other products, which is a pretty neat thing for a company to do. They had no obligation to give me anything, and yet they did.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for about 1 year

Pros: Worked well for the year or so I owned it.

Cons: died after a little over a year of use, am attempting to send it back to *Taiwan* - not sure it's even worth the postage and time to send it back in hopes I'll receive a replacement.

Other Thoughts: probably ought to buy from manufacturers who have warranty service centers in the US (PNY drive died on me too and I've an RMA pending for that one)

2 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Lasted almost 1 year, then died. All data was lost.

Other Thoughts: I tried the format program suggested by another reviewer. No effect. I'll throw it away now.

Pros: Unexpected performance, I was going to use this drive for an Openelc HTPC but it looks like it deserves better. Factory formatted FAT32, Asrock XFastUSB running turbo mode.

2 out of 5 eggsWrite Protect Fixed .. Works Again

Pros: Like many of you that bought this product whether the 16 gig or 32 gig version. Red or Gray color this product Write Protect and you can not format using windows or any lunix formatting tool. Trust me, mine Write Protect 6 months ago, with my college files in it. I was able to retrieve the files off the stick by using a recovery data tool, but the this usb stick was still useless, you cannot do nothing with it.

SOLUTION - I went to the factory site, and they now have a Low Level Formatting Tool that will fix the Write Protect problem. Use the RESTORE option , and this will solve your Write Protect problem.

Step 1 teamgroup site http://www.teamgroup.com.tw/service/download/data/en/27/0/536599.html

Step 2 Please select the Download Category , CLICK ON Product Driver

Step 3 Scroll all the way down to Restore v3.1.0.0 X101 size 320 kb

Step 4 click the RESTORE button

And it should solve the Write Protect problem

It works for me, Good Luck Egger's

-Nick from Texas

Cons: Write Protect, not trust worthy item

Other Thoughts: this product is unpredictable

1 out of 5 eggsDied in less than a year

Pros: It was a nice device while it worked.

Cons: Didn't even last a year. It's write protected and tried every method I can find online in windows and linux to no avail.

1 out of 5 eggs3 months then died (write protect)

Pros: It was cheap

Cons: Bought this usb drive in the middle of November and by the end of February it failed with the write protect locked error that others are getting. I can read most of what's on it but can't change partions, format the drive, or save anything to it. I've thrown just about every utility I can at it both Windows and Linux to try and disable write protect but nothing has worked.. Save your money and don't buy this flash drive.

1 out of 5 eggsFrustrating

Pros: Works for the 3 weeks you may need a flash drive

Cons: As every other reviewer who actually owns this has says, it becomes corrupt and write protected randomly. Worthless.

Other Thoughts: Please, pay the extra couple bucks and get a real flash drive

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for around a year, then it malfunctioned.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: The flash drive worked for around a year, and then it ended up being corrupted.

Shipping this item back to the manufacturer is too much of a hassle for me (they're based in Taiwan), so its better to avoid this brand entirely.
