5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM!

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: Nice looking, work great!

Cons: A little hard to get into the DDR3 slots of a AsRock H97 Pro4, but it was my first build, so I may have just been inexperienced.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning perfect at 1333

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: Runs great in Biostar mobo at 1333 with Athlon II X3. No crashes, freezes or other problems with Win 7. Timings printed on DIMMs match what BIOS and CPU-z tell me.

Cons: Price went up after I bought them, so getting more will cost more...

Other Thoughts: Bought these to upgrade from 4GB to 8GB in Win 7 system and they work great.

5 out of 5 eggsNice RAM

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: Nice Performance and seems to be compatible with just about any MOBO. Attractive gold color heat shielding. Make sure to set your MOBO Ram settings from the default 1333Mhz to 1600Mhz to get full potential of this RAM. Great quality RAM for any mid-range gaming computer.

Cons: NONE.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price for 8GB of memory

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: Even though this is "Cheap Memory", It looks cool and plays hard. I ran Diablo III last night for 3 hours and never skipped a beat. It was a big peace of my $330.00 Budget gaming rig

My Build: ASUS M5A78L-M LX Plus w/ AMD FX 6300 Vishera 6-Core Black Edition (3.5GHz, 14.0MB Total Cache)/Re-Used Galaxy GeForce GT 610 GC 2 GB GDDR3 PCIe, From old Computer. 500GB 7200RPM HDD from old computer, new HDD showed up broken.

Cons: There is none

Other Thoughts: I am pleased with all the stuff I ordered this week from NewEggs warehouse. But the HDD I ordered came from an outside vender and it showed up broken. My expieriance is NewEgg will never let you down, but they might wanna start booting some of their venders.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory, great price

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: Bought this for an upgrade using i5 4690k, ASROCK Z97 KILLER FATAL1TY mb, Win7 64 bit Home ED,
Manually set memory in bios and it has been running super !!
Highly recommend this memory.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Yellow color looks more gold and actually looks pretty good with the black and red theme of this motherboard--I was afraid it would look rather out of place but surprisingly, it looks very good with these colors ( as you probably have figured this color was the cheaper and thus I went with it )

5 out of 5 eggsgood memory

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: It works - now on my 5th set and have never gotten a bad stick. WEI marks were high when I was using Win 7. Runs at advertised speeds.

Have used with Asus and MSI boards, both AMD and Intel.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: have also had two 8gb sets of Team Zeus with similar experience. So far, so good with this company.

4 out of 5 eggsArrival Analysis

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: Package arrived in perfect shape. No excess packaging. Product was unopened and in mint condition.

Color is beautiful. Its stated as yellow, but its more gold or tarnished, metallic yellow. So its not too prominent, but still looks great on a motherboard.

Installation was a breeze. Was originally using an OEM 1x4GB DDR3-1333 stick. Swapped it out for the two sticks. Turned my computer on and system registered 8GB RAM.

Cons: Can't really see any. First time making an actual purchase for RAM

Other Thoughts: Haven't done any testing on it yet, memtest or gaming. Hope to get to it soon when I don't need to use my computer. for a prolonged period.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory when overclocked

This review is from: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (Yellow Heat Spreader) Model TLYD38G1600HC9DC01

Pros: Lots of headroom for overclocking

OC results from passmark performance test had this set ahead of other modules that cost three times as much (I will try to remember to upload my screenshots when the tower quits running my last test of prime95)

Great performance for your dollar after OCing

Cons: They heated up my system temp slightly more than I felt ram should (about 5 degrees, fluctuating).. but a quick $20 for the kingston memory fans and my whole system temp dropped back to normal (and even lower.. I need better airflow apparently).

They only come with one XMP profile that isn't as optimized as it could be, but are capable of so much more.

Other Thoughts: This memory is fantastic. The XMP profile itself isn't that great, but once you start playing with the timings and freq, there is a ton of room.

I didn't need 24gb.. but I got 3 sets of these 2x4gb, and even though i had never played around with overclocking memory much, I decided to play around with these, because I disliked the low freq I had to put it at to keep my i7 920 running at 3.66ghz.

A week ago I decided I was going to start testing the limits on these chips, despite other avid OCers online saying that mobos cant OC 6 dimms.. Maybe my mobo will die in a month, maybe not, but my p6t6 overclocked all 6 of these bad boys pretty easily.

First, to test the waters, I set the XMP profile and booted fine.. then I decided to drop the timings.. This set met 8-8-8-21 and flew through prime95 bashing at freq 1600(800hz). I then decided to up the freq and the timings, but could not boot.. so I upped the voltage, and all was good. So now we were at 9-9-9-24 at 1833, flew through prime95.

I tried to get this memory up to 2133, but even at 11-11-11-30 I couldn't boot. I was planning on pulling 2 of the dimms and trying again (i'm almost positive it would work) but was too excited to start trying to get things working with my i7920 OCed as well.

I am now running my last batch of prime95 on the tower (typing this on my laptop), with the i7920 OCed to 3.66, and the team vulcan at freq 1834 with 10-10-10-27 timings. It has been running steady for almost 3 hours now (and thanks to H100i my 920 hasn't passed 65 celsius). Passmark performancetest is showing the latency at 20.6ns, and novabench is sisoftware sandra is showing the bandwidth at 28000+ mb/s. I am very happy with my $150 spent on 24gigs of team vulcan instead of $150 spent on 8 gb of anything else.
