The 1.8-inch PD200 portable SSD features a built-in flash memory, and uses a new generation of USB 3.0 transmission interface, which brings ultra high speed beyond imagination. Available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities, the PD200 is only the size of a name card, merely 8.6mm in thickness. The PD200 comes in black and blue, and the frame ring in bold and dazzling yellow is also eye-catching. The leather gives a meticulous touch, with anti-slip, wear-resistant, and anti-fingerprint features. Moreover, a storage holster is included for your unlimited enjoyment.

  • newegg Ultra lightweight Measuring only 8.6mm in thickness, the size of a name card, the PD200 is more compact and lightweight compared to smartphones with big screens, making it the thinnest portable SSD on the market. It is the best choice for a mobile digital library, as you can bring it with you anywhere you go.
  • newegg Ultra-High-Speed Transmission Experience The PD200 adopts a new generation of USB 3.0 transmission interface. The read/write speed reaches 250MB/120MB per second. Take the time needed to transfer a 2GB file; for example, the transmission speed is 2.3 times faster than a traditional USB 3.0 external disc, and 11 times faster than a USB 3.0 flash drive.
  • newegg Large Capacity and High CP Index The Team PD200 comes in three capacity options: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Aimed at high-definition videos, music files, and graphic files, they can be accessed more easily and efficiently. Compared to USB 3.0 flash drives of the same class, the prices are more competitive. They are the best choice to replace the bulky USB 3.0 high-speed flash drives and traditional external discs available on the market. To Ultrabook users, it is the smartest choice as far as capacity expansion and affordability are concerned.
  • newegg Fine Grade Leather Texture Team PD200 is black and blue, with a bold and dazzling yellow border design. Additionally, the leather is delicate to the touch, with anti-slip, wear-resistant, anti-fingerprint, and other features. Also, it comes with a sophisticated storage holster, thus making it a high-quality 3C product inside out.
  • newegg LED Indicator When data is being read or written, the LED light lights up. It allows you to easily identify the PD200's operational status. The user-friendly LED indicator design also contributes to more appropriate use of the portable SSD.

4 out of 5 eggsEDIT: high performance external storage

Pros: The write speed was in fact 145MB/s (138MiB/s), please ignore the incorrect measurement of 600MB/s in the other review. The other value was for a different product.

Cons: n/a

4 out of 5 eggshigh performance external storage

Pros: During burn-in, I was able to achieve an astonishing 600MB/s write speed. A faint burning plastic odor could be smelled towards the end of the write. Subsequent writes did not produce this odor. I never got around to testing the read speeds, but they were comparable. I had this drive for over a month and read/wrote the entire device at least 5 times, it was a great product.

Cons: Cheap packaging - the circuitboard is housed in thin plastic which was easily destroyed by my dog. Don't perform heavy I/O with the device in its carrying pouch, this may cause overheating!!!

Other Thoughts: For some reason, this form factor is appealing to my dog. I will be purchasing a metal-housed storage product to replace this one.

1 out of 5 eggsDo Not Buy This SDD

Pros: Worked like a normal plug in when it was running.

Cons: It died after about 4 or 5 weeks, like the other reviewer. It shows up but allows no access to it at all, and I have tried to access it via cmd prompts, linux, and recovery software and nothing can access it. Not worth the risk. Now time to see how well they accept returns at Team Group.

1 out of 5 eggsLost Data after a Month

Pros: SLIM

Cons: Latency
Data Loss

Other Thoughts: I'm always weary of purchasing an item from a company that does not have support in the US, and which is made in China. But for the price and because it's SSD, I gave it a shot.

Wish I didn't, using USB2.0 I had experienced more latency than a standard flash drive when accessing data The transfer rate was great with large files, but hesitation just when access the device was horrible.

Then after about 3 weeks my laptop could no longer recognize the drive, I've tried about 10 other desktops and laptops with FAT and NTFS file systems with no luck.

5 out of 5 eggsTeeny-tiny

Pros: This eeny weeny external SSD is smaller than a smartphone. It's very slim, and silent.

Cons: It's so little you might easily lose it. USB connector is short.

Other Thoughts: Very impressed with this very nice little external SSD drive. Had a conventional SATA drive in an enclosure before, HUGE difference regarding size and weight. I bought it for my daughter to use with her laptop, and she called it "sexy". We were both thrilled with the smallness and the cute little carry case (a leather envelope) that comes with it. Lightens her overall load to carry a great deal. Very nice.
