Sometimes it is not enough to have your data be portable. That's when you need Ironkey. This 8GB USB flash drive has full hardware encryption to keep your data safe. The housing is physically hardened and has a metal casing to protect it from physical harm. The components are sealed to protect against tampering and water damage.

Poor Reviewer Doesn't Get It
- Pros: First off, I own several Ironkeys, and recommended this to my boss (who bought and was thrilled). The reviewer here who gives it one star and makes sarcastic comments a) has no right to comment because he doesn't own one, and b) completely misses the point.
The device hardware encrypts data, and has other physical safeguards. A software encrypted volume can be eventually cracked by the right software, this device cannot.
My boss had his USB thumbdrive stolen with sensitive corporate data, this caused a huge problem (eventually recovered, but at great cost).
What you get is peace-of-mind, which is priceless.
- Cons: Add on software you need to install yourself, so if you want an on-key word processor, for example, you need a little tech knowledge.
- Other Thoughts: People who write reviews should own the product. Reviews from such people should be removed.
Note I do not work for and am not associated with Ironkey in any way, I just appreciate excellent technology.
Get what you pay for
- Pros: Very high security, water proof, and tamper proof. Allows for encrypted backup to local system in the event that your Ironkey is destroyed (self or otherwise). Enforced secure user password. Self-destructs after ten wrong password entries. Must disengage unit from USB port after three wrong password entries - Again - VERY SECURE.
- Cons: None - except price. Not for the bargain hunter, novice, or caviler and/or cavalier computer user. There are other cost-effective options at WalMart and Target for those applications.

Ease of Mind
- Pros: The Ironkey is exactly what it says it is, I am a photographer traveling the world, I have lost gear on 3 continents do to harsh climates. Cold, Heat, underwater, the Ironkey has proven itself time in time again, in the busch in Africa it was a bottle opened. When I was in the mountains in Colorado, it was wedge for a pump. I lost it in London, I bought a new one. I was glad when I lost it, I had peace of mind that my data was safe, totally safe.
- Cons: None, its worth every penny of the cost.
- Other Thoughts: I look forward to Ironkey's next line of security devices.
