5 out of 5 eggsApple Memory too expensive

Pros: This memory is much cheaper than what you can buy at the apple store. If installed quickly and works perfectly.

Cons: No cons that I can see after using if for more than a month.

Other Thoughts: My computer was still under the apple warranty but they wanted me to drive 80 miles and be computerless while they order and fix a simple bad memory chip. I ordered this memory module form newegg and I'm back in business with less than 10 minutes down time. It was well worth the price.

1 out of 5 eggsif you hate getting support

Pros: affected by gravity

Cons: Have now collected a small pile of bad iRam. The manufacture's support is non-existant. Submitted forms go unanswered. The 800 number takes you on an unending redirect. The voice mail system is full.

5 out of 5 eggsEarly 2009 Mac Pro

Pros: Worked great in my Early 2009 mac pro. 1333MHz ram will work in this model, just at the lower bus speed

Cons: Maybe price?

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfect in a Mid2010 Single Mac Pro

Pros: Works flawlessly in the Mid2010 Mac Pro (5,1 - MC250LL/A) - got three of these to upgrade from the ridiculous 3 GB that came with it to 12 GB which is more suited for a machine like that.

Cons: Not a con of the RAM, but wanted to list it anyway: The RAM only runs as 1066 in that machine, not as 1333. This is the limitation of the Mac Pro though (Only the 12 Core one supports 1333)

Other Thoughts: As the single CPU Mac Pro only has 4 RAM Slots and 3 Channels, I've only got three of these modules. Filling all 4 slots leads to a performance reduction, so it's a balance between more or slightly faster.

5 out of 5 eggsiRam 4GB DDR3

Pros: Easy decision:
32 gigs of ram from Apple = $3000
32 gigs of ram from Newegg = $600

Got it?

Cons: Non so far.

Other Thoughts: How does Apple get away charging SO MUCH?
