1 out of 5 eggsMy Only Bad Purchase from Newegg

Pros: I liked the features, design and fast USB 3.0 transfer speed.

Cons: Non-functioning activity LED; no big deal. The problem is the CF slot I use for my Canon EOS camera. Inserting the card was never smooth and now, it has bent pins and is USELESS to me. I bought this card, because my other card reader didn't function with WIN10.

Other Thoughts: The design/ engineering is not what I hoped. The engineering tolerances were not close enough to ensure pin alignment. I do not recommend this product and will be purchasing another one that I hope meets the quality standards we've all come to expect from Newegg. I hope Newegg reviews these reviews and uses them to evaluate whether or not to continue representing products.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor USB 2.0 Lifespan

Pros: Everything worked for the first half year and the Card Reader has read every SD/MicroSD card I've tried. The Extra 5 USB 2.0 ports were welcomed due to all of the flash drives I use for Classes.

Cons: After six months, 4 of the USB 2.0 ports no longer work. The card Reader and the 1st USB 2.0 port (Right side) still does along with the USB 3.0 port.

Other Thoughts: Had bought two of these card reader/hubs and both failed in the same manner. Suspect it's the 2nd USB 2.0 controller in them that dies. Would love to have a 2nd USB 3.0 port instead of the Charge Only Port as the USB 3.0 standard does allow for over 1A of charging

4 out of 5 eggsIts not half bad.

Pros: Lots of usb ports

Charger Port charges so fast its actually really convenient.

Card reader works and is fast

Has esata??? Thats nice for when i need to read drives off of my drive dock.

Cons: Super hard to install. It almost seemed like it was a bit too big for the bay in terms of width but after a lot of forcing, it finally scraped through.

Cables get in the way and power connector is not black? Why did you stop at the power connector? Everything else is black but why this. Also, why is this molex? Is this 2004?

I had to saw off part of it to fit in my case with a radiator (admittedly this is the cases ((Corsair 350D)) fault and not this product but again it wasnt easy to install.)

Other Thoughts: Its pretty handy and I use it a lot. Just make sure it can fit in your case with radiators. Its pretty easy to saw through for a mod ;)

But dont do it if you dont have to because it will almost certainly void the warranty.

3 out of 5 eggsNever out of ports!

Pros: - Great number of ports
- Charging port is incredibly fast
- Drive mount is nifty

Cons: - Molex connector! Wished it was a SATA power connector
- As it takes over the USB 3 and USB 2 headers, would be great if it came with a USB header hub for the case's connections

1 out of 5 eggsTook a chance

Pros: Fast charging port is great idea

Cons: System hangs on shut down and going to sleep with USB 3.0 cable attached to motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I try not to believe every review (some are paid or outright false) so I took a chance. Just as mentioned by others my system would not shut down or go into sleep mode at times. Updated all drivers and bios to no avail. System: H97 chipset with I5 proc. and Win 7.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product so far!

Pros: -Offers a ton of easy-access USB ports
-Fast-charge port is a nice feature

This product has been great for me so far. It was used in a friend's build (that I built/tested and use regularly) and has been flawless so far. I am very happy with the large number of front USB ports it provides. This allows me to easily charge my phone, sync an ipod, use my USB headset, and still have room for whatever USB drives/other devices I might want all at once. The Super Charge USB port does charge fast for a PC USB port.

Everything has worked flawlessly so far. So, based on my personal experience, it is reliable - it has been in use for a little over 3 months now.

Cons: -Requires a lot of internal connections for a card reader (4)

It does require 4 different internal connections.
1. A USB 3.0 header
2. A USB 2.0 header
3. A SATA port
4. A molex power connector

Other Thoughts: -Reliability concerns based on other reviews

I am concerned about the reliability of the SD card reader on this device, as many other reviews have stated that it stops working after a period of time. So far it has been great for me - I am even getting a second one for my desktop rebuild soon, so I will have another chance to see how well it works. I will not deduct an egg based on that, but it is something to consider when buying.

Based on my personal experience, I highly recommend this product and am getting one for my personal build in the next month. Seems like a great product!

2 out of 5 eggsGreat except card readers don't work

Pros: -Like the USB 3.0
-The charger is a great plus too.

Cons: -Card reader has never worked

Other Thoughts: After checking other reviews this seems to be a common issue.

1 out of 5 eggsI'm done with Enermax products.

Pros: Plug and play device with lots of handy features. Reads (sometimes) most all popular formats including SDXC and micro SD. I like the ESATA and charging feature.

Cons: -Would be handy to have a switched power port on the faceplate to run a hard drive with the ESATA port.
-Like several other reviews, the card reader stops working.
-Couldn't understand the language the box was printed in; it was destined to be sold outside the US.

Other Thoughts: -When the unit fails, the Genesys Logic Card Reader ID in the device manager's USB controllers list changes to unknown device for the ASRock X99 Extreme 11 motherboard. Forcing a motherboard USB3 driver refresh will tell you there's a defective USB device installed. Other USB functions are interrupted and the USB keyboard and mouse (on a different USB3 header) take 10 seconds or so to come alive during login. Unplug the Enermax USB3 connector and the problems go away and stay away. Reseating the USB3 connector or swapping it with the other header usually fixes the problem, but not for long. My first thought was hit or miss connector quality or lack of testing, but I had similar problems with the ECR301 a while back.
-Mechanical aspects were otherwise sound; installation in the case was accurate and clean.
-Would not recommend this product to a friend.

2 out of 5 eggsCard Reader Stopped working

Pros: The charging usb port is very useful, and it works great as a usb hub. Since my PC case doesn't offer much connectivity other than the mobo backplate, this is very useful.

Cons: A few months in the card reader (SD card) stopped working. The card is constantly making the mounting , then ejecting sound, which makes it unusable.

Other Thoughts: I haven't had time to look for loose connections internally, but for now the card reader section is unusable. If I manage to fix it I will rate it 4-5 star, because when it was working the product was great.
