5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: works as it's supposed to. i got this because I needed a new card reader and more usb ports, best of both worlds. really like the quick charging port as well.

Cons: instructions are not clear. you must have a usb 3.0 either on motherboard or expansion card or will not work. I found this out on a comment thread elsewhere. I have an older computer so I had to purchase usb 3.0 expansion card with internal hookups. the only other con is it uses old 4 pin molex for power so I had to purchase a converter cable to sata for in my compuer.

Other Thoughts: I really like this card reader/usb hub what is needed to make it work needs to be clearer. would absolutely purchase again and go through the small hassles of hookup for what I've gotten

2 out of 5 eggsHalf works.

Pros: It's an Enermax. That usually a good thing. Just not in this instance. Windows 10 detects it and all the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports work.

Cons: The USB 2.0/3.0 ports work but the card readers don't. The power light doesn't work but I know windows 10 detects it because of the sound windows makes when I unplug the power to it. Cant get any of the card readers to work. This drive didn't show up at all in windows 10 in "This PC" as a drive.

Other Thoughts: Enermax as a brand is decent but just not this unit I'm assuming.

4 out of 5 eggsLots of Ports + Charging

Pros: Installed this in a new build running Windows 10.0.10586 64-bit Build 10586 and it works perfectly. Every port has been tested and all work as expected.
The charging port is just that. Charging only. It only supplies USB power but does not connect a device to the USB port of the computer. Doesn't really state that in the information but make sense hence the Molex connector to power it.

Cons: USB ports are upside down from normal. Slots for SD, M2 and Micro SD are also upside down. So easy to get the card in wrong if you don't remember. Docking an egg for this design flaw.

Other Thoughts: Unlike another user, the mounting screw holes lined up exactly as they should to make the face plate exactly flush with the front bezel of the computer case. In this case a Rosewill Line OEM Micro ATX. Motherboard on this build is an ASUS Z170M-Plus with a Intel Core i7-6700K processor. So the latest Intel chipset and Skylake processor at this time.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's Alright.

Pros: There aren't a ton of great all-around card reading units on the market. I decided to try this unit out and it seems to be okay. There isn't anything flashy about it and it will read cards appropriately. I haven't gotten the chance to try out all of the different readers, but I assume there wouldn't be any issues.

Cons: I docked one star for a design flaw. The bay mounting screws used to lock this unit into place are a big misaligned and this causes the unit to be mounted a bit recessed into the bay (instead of being flush with the front of the tower and all the other bays.) It also comes lose sometimes. I find this odd, but I honestly don't use the unit enough for it to be larger concern. It's just something to be aware of before purchasing.

1 out of 5 eggsUnit no longer functions.

Pros: USB 2.0 ports continue to function.

Cons: USB 3.0 Failed. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Card reader has Failed. No longer reads cards.

Other Thoughts: Looked like a decent unit upon purchase besides the flimsy USB ports in the unit that ironically what I thought was going to be the failure point, turns out to be the only feature to be working still. 6 Month life span. Unsatisfied. Rating lowered. Looking for another brand.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: Looks big enough to fit in optical bay, should have checked the dimensions. Lost a wad on that deal.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid mount to frame and well marked wires to plug into motherboard. Generally seems firm slots for all cards and USB's I tested.

Cons: Odd design in that the USB plugs are upside down from most common standard? You cannot really tell that in pictures. That makes it difficult to see the connection/operation light of most USB jump drives or memory sticks.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad....

Pros: Works well. Reads cards and USB ports work. Have not tested SATA port yet.

Cons: The USB ports seem flimsy. They wiggle in the case. This makes me question the durability of this item. Time will tell if they last. Ports should be strong due to the heavy usage they get from operator plugging and unplugging.
Due to this, automatic 4 stars. Rating will be lower if these ports prematurely fail.
