4 out of 5 eggsok...

Pros: 112.3 MB/s to 162.0 MB/s read speeds.
19.2 MB/s to 53.8 MB/s write speeds...
yes thats megabytes not bits

Cons: havn't seen the supposed 100MB/s write speeds

Other Thoughts: this drive has the new JMicron JMF60X. it dosnt stutter like the old ones. i recomend useing these smaller ssd's for basic computing to gaming, nothing that writes alot of data

4 out of 5 eggsNice Drive

Pros: Installed quickly in my laptop and very light. Plastic housing worried me at first but didn't seem to be an issue. Fast data transfers as a secondary drive. Initially installed windows on it; was a little faster but not a wow factor.. Setup old drive as primary and use this as a quick backup of my data...

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far!

Pros: Beautifully packaged. No fit problems. No cabling problems. Smooth XP install using Jetway Atom 330 motherboard (1.66GHz, dual core). Even write speed seems zippy--- Installation actually took about 10min less than on my E5200 desktop rig with a 7200rpm HDD. I can't believe how quickly this boots! Navigating around windows seems *much* faster than the atom 230 machine I have, which uses a 5400rpm laptop drive, and not perceptibly slower than my desktop rig. In service for about 6 weeks now, and no crashes or disc errors yet. Using NAS for actual video storage, but this is in a 24/7 duty DVR, and I consider this to be punishing duty. No heat to speak of-- I no longer need a fan blowing on my system drive... another unforseen savings. I'm very impressed.

Cons: Only time will tell... if this holds up long-term, I can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: SSD's are too expensive to have your cake & eat it too... a very small, but very fast SSD, used for limited purposes (booting!) seems to be a good fit for the technology until prices come down. Given the choice between 2x the size at half the speed, I'd choose this little guy over other similarly priced 32GB SSDs. Why go SSD if it's the same speed or slower than a regular HDD of the same size?

2 out of 5 eggsNot compatable with all 2.5" slots

Pros: fast, light, low power consumption

Cons: will not mount in my cases at all. the side screw holes are too small and not deep enough and what happened to the ones at the bottom? just holes. flimsy plastic case that i feel like i am going to break. i have the 32gb drive and love it but i didnt want to pay that much when i only need about 10gb for my build.

Other Thoughts: i ordered from another online store because lower price and free shipping..

2 out of 5 eggsSuper Talent SSD

Pros: Cheap with plastic case

Cons: I tried a few of these and my Intel 945 chipset mother boards would not even recognize them.

Other Thoughts: Many of the low cost SSD drives like the Super Talent and PQI do not work right. Too bad there is not a standard test or certification so customers do not have to waste so much time and money.

1 out of 5 eggsSTAY AWAY FROM THIS!

Pros: Fast when it works. Windows XP starts in nearly 5 seconds (when it starts). NewEgg packaging and shipping was excellent.

Cons: This drive causes numerous BSODs in Windows when it works. When it is not causing BSODs, it is causing my computer to give me message at boot up: Verifying DMI Data Pool..., No Operating System Found. I have reinstalled Windows on the HD 6 different times now (using two different XP installation disks, all producing the same results. I KNOW the PC is not bad, as other HDs work flawlessly in it. Super-talent did not respond to my email, and when I called (during their terrible support office hours) I got a Chinese chick that could barely speak English. She redirected me to their firmware download site. Short story, surprise, the firmware update did not help. Now I have to try to get them on the phone again to get a refund or replacement. I did not test them out within the 30 day return period (I should have).

Other Thoughts: I was going to build 8 more systems using this drive for the same customer, I think I will look for a different drive (and brand).

4 out of 5 eggsPlastic case?

Pros: No moving parts.
Silent performance of course.... cause it's solid state!
Low current draw.

Cons: Plastic case rather than aluminum like on the Super Talent 32Gb SSD Drive.
Still a bit pricey for a 16GB drive, but that's what you get for using the most advanced technology right?

Other Thoughts: Took off 1 egg because of the plastic case- these SSD drives are just pretty flimsy so a metal case seems like a good idea.
Using this particular drive as the boot drive in a FreeNAS server- works perfectly, nice fast reliable bootup.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for a couple weeks...

Pros: Fast enough, quiet, small and very low heat.

Cons: "Died" on me after a month. I had this running my media center software on my HTPC but after a month the motherboard was unable to boot from the drive reporting that it could not find a boot device. As weird as it sounds I have to remove the power plug from the PC and put it back in to get this drive to boot again.

Other Thoughts: Going to RMA this drive. Not sure if I'll take a chance on super talent drives again...

5 out of 5 eggsBoot drive for ESX

Pros: Great boot drive for ESX 3.5 server. Very fast. Small size is all you need when you have SAN storage for VMs. NewEgg’s order processing and shipping is very fast and they keep you informed via e-mail every step of the way.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Don't forget a 2.5" to 3.5" mounting kit.
