ok...
- Pros: 112.3 MB/s to 162.0 MB/s read speeds.
19.2 MB/s to 53.8 MB/s write speeds... yes thats megabytes not bits
- Cons: havn't seen the supposed 100MB/s write speeds
- Other Thoughts: this drive has the new JMicron JMF60X. it dosnt stutter like the old ones. i recomend useing these smaller ssd's for basic computing to gaming, nothing that writes alot of data
Nice Drive
- Pros: Installed quickly in my laptop and very light. Plastic housing worried me at first but didn't seem to be an issue. Fast data transfers as a secondary drive. Initially installed windows on it; was a little faster but not a wow factor.. Setup old drive as primary and use this as a quick backup of my data...
- Cons: NONE
Great so far!
- Pros: Beautifully packaged. No fit problems. No cabling problems. Smooth XP install using Jetway Atom 330 motherboard (1.66GHz, dual core). Even write speed seems zippy--- Installation actually took about 10min less than on my E5200 desktop rig with a 7200rpm HDD. I can't believe how quickly this boots! Navigating around windows seems *much* faster than the atom 230 machine I have, which uses a 5400rpm laptop drive, and not perceptibly slower than my desktop rig. In service for about 6 weeks now, and no crashes or disc errors yet. Using NAS for actual video storage, but this is in a 24/7 duty DVR, and I consider this to be punishing duty. No heat to speak of-- I no longer need a fan blowing on my system drive... another unforseen savings. I'm very impressed.
- Cons: Only time will tell... if this holds up long-term, I can't think of any.
- Other Thoughts: SSD's are too expensive to have your cake & eat it too... a very small, but very fast SSD, used for limited purposes (booting!) seems to be a good fit for the technology until prices come down. Given the choice between 2x the size at half the speed, I'd choose this little guy over other similarly priced 32GB SSDs. Why go SSD if it's the same speed or slower than a regular HDD of the same size?
