Needed more gb than the originating 4gb that came with it Went with 16gb because it was perfect size. Install was easy and painless. Using Linux install DVD was a breeze. OS up and running. Simple installation, flawless performance. My only regret was not going for a 32GB instead. I installed Windows 7, beta 1, and no issues to report at all. Other Thoughts: eee pc 701a, windows keeps reverting DMA to PIO mode. Different BIOS are no help, new super talent divers do not solve the problem. Cons: Slow write speed. Other Thoughts: This was the other upgrade I installed in my Asus EEE 701 so I could run Windows XP on it. Unfortunately, it's slower than the original SSD, so Windows lags at times. Maybe slower. Other Thoughts: If you want speed, you should look compare SLC. This is base on MLC. SLC is faster, MLC is slower. Purchase this only you want storage. It will not improve your speed. Cons: Slow writing speed. Other Thoughts: I bought one 16 SSD for a EEE pc 900A from best*buy becasue of low price. It works ok. Read speed of this dirve is enough. However the write speed is very slow. installation of software take 4-10x longer than normal hard drive, the computer stop responding during write request.
