Eeepc SSD replacement
- Pros: Easy install, major improvement from stock 4gig Asus SSD.
- Cons: Price?
- Other Thoughts: The Eeepc family can be goofy when installing the OS, had to plug in a flash-usb drive in order for Windows XP Pro installation to allow the drive to be formatted and written to... I try not to question it, but it worked. Enjoy.
Great SSD for Asus eeePC 900
- Pros: Much better SSD than stock drive in Asus eeePC 900. Faster boot time makes this netbook tolerable. Running WinXP on the stock drive was painfully slow. This drive boots within 30 seconds.
- Cons: None that I see. The drive fit perfectly into the slot, I ran a clean install from my recovery disk and voila! WinXP on a netbook.
- Other Thoughts: People who had trouble w/ this drive should have gone to the manufacturer's support site to read the specifications for the drive and what laptops these were designed for. This SSD was an VERY easy upgrade and very cost effective.
Doesn't work in EeePC 701
- Pros: Unable to evaluate.
- Cons: The manufacturer describes this module as working on the EeePC 701, however not all 701s have the second Mini PCI connector. Open the memory cover and verify that a connector exists before ordering (there should be a black connector on one side and screw receptors to attach the corners of the board on the other if it is supported).
