5 out of 5 eggsGREAT little SSD's

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: Cheap enough to put on any system / Super Fast as SSDs should be

Cons: Purchased many of these drives (30+) in the past few months no issues or DOA's YET

Other Thoughts: Kinston seems to have quality control on point with this product. I'll continue to recommend and purchase as long as they keep it up.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat os ssd

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: Plenty fast. I came from a WD Blue os drive. I keep forgetting that it only takes seconds for my computer to reach windows.

Cons: -only 110gb, but that occurs to all hdds and ssds, so no problem.

Other Thoughts: Of course don't go expect to install everything on it,, probably will be getting a 480gb version in the future for my games.

4 out of 5 eggsDidn't come with its own SATA Cable

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: Runs as advertised except for the loss of no SATA power connectors or data cable connectors

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product but make sure to purchase seperate cables for the SATA

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 years

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: Was on sale

Cons: Fast when new, quickly lost speed, No longevity, No warning, just died.

Other Thoughts: No warning, just died. BIOS reported the drive as "X: 1.32GB" Then drive wouldn't even show up in bios. Tried getting in to it with a Linux box, but nothing. Took it apart and examined under a microscope for cold welds, nothing. Re-flowed the board by hand anyway, couldn't hurt. It didn't help. I have older Samsung SSD's that get more read/ write time and there are no issues with them.
I do not recommend Kingston SSD's

5 out of 5 eggsOS drive

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: -FAST
-power consumption

Cons: -price and available storage

Other Thoughts: This is my first SSD and its FAST. Ff you are used to an HDD get one and run your OS from this drive. my PC boots WIN10 in about 10 seconds. I have win10 and a few things on here and it opens them instantly. I have a 1 tb Hard drive for everything else.

3 out of 5 eggsNot so great

This review is from: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SV300S37A/120G

Pros: Quicker than HDD's.
Cheap.

Cons: My 3 year old Crucial drive that I've booted from daily performs 2x if not 3x faster than this drive, and this drive hasn't been written to other than initial format and the test. My read/write performance is 237.5MB/s and 157MB/s, respectively.

Other Thoughts: The drive is pretty cheap, but I expected better performance for a SSD. File transfers from a RAID0 array to this SSD barely hit 60MB/s. My other SSD will sustain 150MB/s. It's a SSD after all, but it's pretty sluggish. Good candidate for a netbook, maybe, but I wouldn't put it in a high end gaming PC unless a serious budget is required for boot drive or game drive.
