2 out of 5 eggsWell doa

Pros: i guess all along one stick out of 2 were doa so does thinking i had 8 gigs count as a pro?

Cons: like i said one was doa, and started giving me bad crashing problems. each time it said it was memory so i took it out and so far no crash. i really want to trade them for credit as others have said but i havent tried yet.

1 out of 5 eggsTwo DIMMS DOA - SpecTekular!

Pros: Cheap with bundle. Looks like RAM, smells like RAM.

Cons: Isn't. BOTH sticks I ordered were DOA. Of course, I assumed at least one was working so I spent tons of time troubleshooting a new build. Nope. It took me so much time to test all other components that I could no longer return it to Newegg.

Other Thoughts: You know it takes a lot to get someone to review a discontinued product. That's how bad this RAM was for me. Thanks, Spectek.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Pretty flimsey stuff!

Cons: Died and almost took Win7 with it. I can't seem to find a way to RMA it.
I want to return it for credit against some Corsair memory

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: I ordered two sticks. Only one of them is working fine. They were very cheap since I bought it as a bundle.

Cons: Checked if each stick was working by only using one of the stick at the time of the boot. Will not boot with stick #1 but will boot with stick #2.

I requested an RMA through Spectek. Let's see how long it takes for them to respond back and resolve this issue.

2 out of 5 eggsMade System Unstable

Pros: None really..

Cons: Defective unit. Created a very unstable system. Machine would freeze with artifacts on the screen. Could not install Windows 7. Could not even make simple changes in the BIOS as you could never tell when the system would restart or freeze. BSOD on me several times. Different error code every time. RMAd it and we'll see if the next stick works.

Other Thoughts: I tried another stick of RAM from a working machine, and it brought the system to life. So no doubt a bad stick. I can't say they'll all be this way, but this one sure was. I'll update when the next stick arrives.

2 out of 5 eggsI hate to leave bad reviews, but...

Pros: One stick seemed to work.

Cons: I bought two of these sticks as part of a bundle deal from Newegg. Windows would crash during installation, so I switched to a different set of RAM I owned and finished the process. Afterwards I tested one of these SpecTek sticks with MemTest86, and it worked just fine, although it was being read at about half its advertised speed. With the other stick, I couldn't even get memtest to boot, just completely DOA.

Newegg will not let me return this broken hardware because it is worth less than the bundled savings, so I wasted 50 bucks (I used 8 gigs of something else instead).

With the stick that worked, my BIOS wouldn't recognize it as 1600, just 1333. I tried "overclocking" it to 1600 and, after my computer failed to boot, the BIOS would pop up and say that the overclocking failed. If I can get these replaced, I will gladly change my review. I hate to base a whole product off of one or two failed pieces.

Other Thoughts: This came with the bundle that included:
FX-6300 processor
MSi 970A-G43 board
CoolerMaster CMP 350 case
Seagate 1TB hard drive

Hopefully the other bundle purchasers don't have my bad luck.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: does what it needs to do and fast. since i only had this ram for 1 week, cant really tell much on OCing it or just general life expectancy.

Cons: none that i can think of now.

Other Thoughts: i have not yet tried to OC it.
