1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money

Pros: nothing

Cons: Not worth the money. Not only do you have to insert the card upside down...you have to SHOVE AND HOLD it for the computer to read it.

1 out of 5 eggsEh....

Pros: Cheap

Cons: It has an odd way of inserting an SD card. You have to put it in upside down. Also wouldn't ready my camera formatted SD stick. Had to format it on the PC then on the camera. Other computers were able to read it just fine. Just made it difficult to transfer files directly.

3 out of 5 eggsworks, was free

Pros: I got this for free with my arctic silver thermal compound, since I didn't pay for it, the fact that it functions is a pro

Cons: Since it didn't cost me anything, I don't see any.

Other Thoughts: if you want an expensive card reader, and those exist, spend money on it, I got this thing for free.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT A 480MB/S UNIT

Pros: IT WORKS BUT IN LOW SPEED MODE ONLY.

Cons: IT DOES NOT PERFORMS UP TO 480MB/S AS PER SPECS. NOT A USB2 UNIT.

Other Thoughts: I PURCHASED AN EXTERNAL USB2 UNIT AND HAD A MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE. I SHOOT IN RAW AND EACH PHOTO IS 6MB, CANNOT WAIT 4 HOURS FOR MY 16GB MEMORY TO BE DOWNLOADED.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job.

Pros: Cheap solution for those with multiple devices that all use a different card. It works as advertised and comes with three face plates.

Cons: Transfer rate is a little slow and only one USB port (not an issue for me, however if your case does not have forward USB ports this may be important).

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 64bit Professional
i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8ghz LGA 1156
ASUS P7P55 SuperComputer
2 * EN9600GT in SLI
6 GB OCZ Gold DDR3

2 out of 5 eggsThankfully it was free

Pros: Works okay when it works.

Cons: Often I have to physically push on the memory card and hold it in place so that it will make contact inside the card reader.

It'd be nice if I could go do other things while transferring several gigabytes of video to my computer, rather than sit tethered to my computer with my thumb pressing against an SD card.

Other Thoughts: As with most of these internal readers, it allocates four drive letters for itself. It would be handy if it only used one, but I don't consider it a real con since there are still 22 other driver letters.

I got this reader free with another item I ordered, and I already had another card reader I had planned on using, so I just figured I'd try this one out and see if it was any better. No great loss, and I'll probably replace it with my other one soon.
