1 out of 5 eggsTeac Still Sells Drives That Don't Work.

Pros: N/A

Cons: Defective, doesn't work in Windows 7 64-bit, XP 32-bit or Linux.

Other Thoughts: I've been building PCs since the mid-90's and I learned early on to avoid TEAC--I came across a lot of their floppy drives that were DOA back then and I see that their QC hasn't improved. Avoid this one.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Work with Win7 64bit

Pros: Nice black case with something inside.

Cons: Will not work under win7 64 bit. Drive is recognized and installed correctly but WILL NOT read/format a floppy disc.
To big for a paperweight.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great device for a low price. power delivered thru USB so only 1 cord to deal with. length of usb cord is sufficient.

Cons: inside the drive there was fine dust. had to open the case and remove with a few q-tips. doesn't affect the functionality of the device, just an annoyance

Other Thoughts: the drive is a TEAC

3 out of 5 eggs1.44 MB only. second drive.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Doesn't do .720MB disks. Double checked the spec's at their website. This is the second drive in 2 years. The first quit working after a few months, only used very rarely.

Other Thoughts: I'll have to look for a better USB floppy that can handle the older low density floppies because we still use machines in the shop with old controllers that only use that format.

When can I say goodbye to floppies forever!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, compatible with Linux

Pros: Used it to copy an ancient floppy collection to my hard drive over the course of about three weeks. Works out of the box with Gentoo Linux 64-bit, no configuration or driver installation was needed, no problems encountered.

Cons: Slow, but what else can you expect from a floppy drive?

1 out of 5 eggsAlways fails for me

Pros: Looks nice, gets power from USB

Cons: Does not work for me. All my machines are Windows 7, 64 bit
It always says the floppy disk is write protected

Other Thoughts: Perfect size, looks great, looks like it may need a different OS
Bytecc has not responded despite many attemps over past year.

I gave it one egg because I could not give it no eggs.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked good for 1 month, then stopped

Pros: Worked GREAT, for one month...but hey, what pros are there about an external floppy drive. It either works or it doesn't.

Cons: Failed after 1 month

Other Thoughts: Junk, need another external floppy drive and I have no reason to go ahead and purchase another one of these.
