It has a 18 inch usb cable that is adequate for most users. It is not fast, but after all it is a floppy drive. Sometimes you think that it isn't reading the disk, but if you wait eventually you will see the files. If you are in need of a portable 1.44 Mb floppy drive then this drive fits that need. I bought it because more and more of the motherboards no longer support floppies and you never know when you need one. Cons: It does not format 720K discs so if you need to format these disks you are out of luck. Other Thoughts: A couple of times I had to eject and re-seat the disk before I was able to format it. I also had a blank disk that took forever for the drive to recognized that the disk wasn't formatted. Cons: Like the review title says, UNRELIABLE! Have purchased a total of 4 of these to use in my workplace, only one is still functional. The other 3 are trash!!! I do not use this much, so it did not provide much service. New Egg would not exchange it since it was past 30 days.
