4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Box

Pros: Works flawlessly so far, only having it for under month I've had zero issues. I filled it with Seagate Barracuda LP drives, the (5,900 rpm ones). That I had in a previous system, and easily reach 100MB/s speeds over a 1gbe network. I also had zero issues upgrading the ram to 16 Gigs using the 4GB Kingston Modules off of their compatibility list.
(Kingston 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model KVR1333D3N9K4/16G )
Item#: N82E16820139980
Side note here the specs say 2GB RAM however, mine came with 2x2GB Sticks of Transcend RAM. 16GB May be overkill but hey if you're going to do something... do it... that's my motto.

Cons: Not all advertised features are "fully" supported, case in point XBMC. The XBMC module was written by a Thecus employee but is listed as a 3rd party module. Don't get me wrong, it does work, however I've been using a remote XBMC app on my iPad for a couple years now and it's not "fully" compatible with XBMC running on this NAS. You lose control of XBMC once you launch a video due to it actually passing the video playback to an external player (mplayer). The proposed solutions are to use a wireless keyboard... Well that's just so 10 yrs ago... so -1 Egg for that.
I've reverted back to using my Zotac box to play files from a SMB share on the Thecus so much for eliminating another piece of gear.

Other Thoughts: Some people say it's a NAS use it as one and stop trying to use it like a PC and would argue the XBMC point. This thing really is a PC/NAS Hybrid Intel CPU, DDR3 RAM, and 6 SATA Drives and HDMI Output. The more functionality I can squeeze out of it the better. Maybe they will fix this one.
On a final note: I have mine backing up to a linux box running OpenMediaVault using the rsync backup module and it has ran great, now I have 2 copies of my data sync'd every morning within minutes.
