It provides complete backup solutions, including local backup, remote backup, and cloud backup.
Secure Storage Center & Network Access The TS-119P II supports SMB/CIFS with folder aggregation, NFS and AFP protocols for file sharing across Windows, Mac, Linux/UNIX networks. The antivirus feature ensures business continuity by offering manual and scheduled virus scan against the latest viruses, malware, worms, and Trojan horses. The TS-119P II can be easily joined to a Windows Active Directory or LDAP Directory Service for efficient user account management. The domain users can use the same user account and password to connect to the TS-119P II on the local network. TS-119P II features SSL/TLS (explicit) encryption, shared folder management, user permission management, policy-based unauthorized IP blocking and more to ensure secure network access.

Cons: After about 45 days phantom error messages start appearing related to the drive. Advises to run "Disk Check", but disk check never finds any problems. The error begins resulting in random shutdowns, eventually dismounting the drive and making the data partition corrupt and unrepairable. Glad a had a backup. Not sure I should try using it again, frankly.

Other Thoughts: Nice piece of hardware but the QNAP forums are full of complaints on this issue, dating back to '11. Buyer beware.
