4 out of 5 eggsGood Drive; Jumpers confusing!

Pros: Good Drive; They generally last a long time. This drive replaced a Seagate drive of the same capacity. My Dell PERC accepted this disk as a replacement, and rebuilt the disk into the RAID5 array without any problems.

Cons: The stupid jumpers ship on the WRONG SIDE of the jumper block making it very confusing assigning the SCSI ID. Pay close attention to the included documentation paper. I had to remove the 4 or 5 jumpers off one side of the jumper block, and set the SCSI ID on the other side.

Other Thoughts: Newegg did a good job delivering this drive, as always, damage free and quick.

5 out of 5 eggsSmokin

Pros: Fujitsu website had clear and concise jumper setting diagrams. Had my rebuilt Precision 650 assembled and O/S installed with updates in less than an hour.

Cons: I shoulda spent the xtra $40.00 per drive to double my RAID 0 capacity.

Other Thoughts: I wonder about those who bash SCSI hardware,...do they know it's not PNP without a little jumper intervention on their part? The drives WON'T spinup if the controller card thinks there are two #15 drives on the channel.

5 out of 5 eggsSCSI really isn't pronounced "scuzzy" anymore...

Pros: Fast. Really fast. Makes me realize why SCSI wasn't meant to be pronounced "scuzzy".

Cons: Cost, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Needs good controller, recommend PCI-X workstation motherboard and PCI-X controller for these puppies. Also, don't skimp on cables; need twisted pair SCSI cables that are Ultra-320 rated. Forget burst rates, these drives will put out 120+ MB/s on a continuous basis.

5 out of 5 eggsRAID 0 working great

Pros: I get read speeds of 130MBPS in raid 0 with two hard drives, need I say more?

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not sure about the write speed, but I don't think it is as good as the read speed.

1 out of 5 eggsDead as a door nail

Pros: None

Cons: Installed drive, restored 20 GB to the drive, rebooted...drive dead. Tried it in two different computers, two different SCSI cards, drive will not even spin up.

Very frustrating.

5 out of 5 eggsPure pwnage

Pros: Awesome drive to put games on (Cuts down loading times and "Verifying Client data" from BF2)

Cons: A wee bit noisy (but at least you know its working) Sounds like some hardcore grinding.

Other Thoughts: It also increases the chance that a hot chick will spontaneously love you.

5 out of 5 eggsResponsive and fast

Pros: 94 MB/sec with HDtach in outer zones. My older 10k drives (Atlas 10kIII) get 45 MB/sec). Extremely responsive. Silent.

Cons: None to date.

Other Thoughts: Always used SCSI drives because of low access times. It really helps when you want a responsive system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Excellent drive. No problems.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Be ready to have issues with scsi card drivers. Must have a internal floppy drive or windows will not load drivers.
