Pros: Very easy to set up. High storage capacity. Tech tells me you can put up to 12 TB in it.
Cons: This device is simply unusable. It is just a huge hassle and waste of time, so please, choose another Netgear device. Some suggestions are below.
This product's flaw is that it regularly powers down mysteriously and has to be rebooted. After reboot it must "resync" which takes about six hours. I have owned it four days and it has done this three times already, particularly when I have been adding data. Bottom line: Totally unusable.
I had three conversations with tech support. We tried updating the firmware, twice. Finally tech support admitted the device is defective and unstable and suggested I buy another model. The two models recommended to me were the ultra or the pro. Netgear ReadyNas NV+ v1 is also very reliable, but the tech guy pointed out it uses an old format which will no longer be supported. I chose the pro since it looks like the most stable of all of them.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should stop selling this product. It is clearly simply defective and it needs to be recalled. Companies often choose not to recall given the expense involved, but I think sellers should do the responsible thing and stop selling items which are clearly lemons.
