Pros: I see 2 reviews that downgrade this drive because it failed after a 3 foot fall to the floor. I have worked on pc's and larger computers, and a fall from 3 feet with the heads loaded is almost fatal. When the heads are "flying " over the disk surface they are thousands of an inch from the disk surface. Any shock will cause the heads to hit the disk surface and you just totaled the drive. If the drive was powered off, the heads are parked and a mild shock will not destroy the drive. The heads are held away from the disk surface mechanically.

Other Thoughts: My boyfriend knocked it off the table and it fell 3 feet to a carpeted floor. It would not work after that. In my opinion it is way too delicate! There's no way it should've broken after such a short drop onto carpet.

Pros: It worked fine until it got knocked onto the carpeted floor.

Cons: It fell about 3 feet onto carpet and died. Pretty flimsy construction to stop working so easily.

Pros: shipped perfectly, have had no trouble with it in these 2 years that i've had it. this is a great external hard drive.

Pros: Well build drive with a lighted power switch on the front that flashes when data is being transferred.

Cons: Photo on the Newegg site does represent the drive that is shipped. Newegg did not indicate that the dive was Fat32 formatted. I had to reformat to NTFS to accept my large video files.
