Pros: It seems to work and do what it's supposed to do.

Cons: doesn't install itself.

Other Thoughts: I have only had this drive for a short time and NewEgg wanted me to "vote" on it as an outstanding product. While it is really too soon to tell, I have owned other WD drives and they have performed well. I used DriveWire and EZ Gig II to move my OS and programs from an older (smaller) HDD.. and aside from having to make a couple of minor tweaks to my BIOS setup everything is GOOD. I hope this drive holds up as well as my previous WD drives have.

Pros: A friend of mine had an old backup PC they wanted to use to house a music collection. The machine houses two of these in a mirrored config.

Cons: They are somewhat louder than I expected, but not too bad.

Other Thoughts: I mounted both drives on rubber-lined rails to reduce any noise produced - they are not bad to begin with. They have performed quite well over the years. I recommend these.

Pros: Not a hard drive expert by any means. Either it works or it doesn't. I installed this one 1/2008 and have had ZERO problems with it.

Cons: None

Pros: Received the WD as ordered. Will fire up this W.E.. Will
be used in one of my point of sale terminals that is a dinosaur.

Cons: I have been building computers for over 20+ yrs., and
I can see why there are as many issues with boards.
Has anyone ever heard of PROPER HANDLING of electronic components. A hard drive that is not double
boxed. REALLY! NewEgg I have been buying from you for
years, and I can see why you have all the RMAs. Man if
business is that tough charge a dollar for an extra freeking box. HELLO!!

Other Thoughts: I really feel bad for companies like WD that have their products beat to death before delivery. Someone at
NewEgg needs to understand that electronic components REQUIRE certain care. We are not shippng
concrete blocks here. 3EGGS for shipping/pkging

Pros: Shipped fast.

Cons: Upon installation, and power up, it made a loud clicking sound (4 clicks in a row, then pause). I tried it in 4 computers, and none of them could even find the drive. When you touched the drive, you could actually feel the clicking. It was D.O.A. on arrival.

Pros: See my review for my first one. Now I have a second one. The both work GREAT! No problems. They do what they are supposed to do. They are quiet and run cool. I have been using these two drives for about 9 months. Couldn't be happier with them.

Cons: Wish they came in a larger capacity.

Pros: -IDE for when you need it
-VERY quiet!
-Reliable, like all Western Digital drives.

Cons: -Slow for power computing, especially for a gamer like me.
-Fairly overpriced for what you're getting.

Other Thoughts: This is an incredibly great drive with a lot of time on it, and it's still running with NO errors.

This isn't the best drive if you're a gamer and do a lot of modding (requires moving/unzipping large files) like I do. That requires a speedy drive/SSD if you're inpatient like me. It held up and still is, but if you're not using it for storage, or aren't using a basic internet PC, then I wouldn't recommend this. Otherwise, I would for its reliability.

I used this from mid 2010 until late 2012 when I upgraded to an SSD. Now it serves as a great storage drive, for MP3s, documents and the like.

Pros: None

Cons: Ded out of the box, installed XP and PC frozed. Windows is posting, errors with bad sectors. Wow

Pros: Good hard drive, has been reliable so far. I needed IDE because it was for a homebrew server and I'm using all the SATA ports in my software RAID.

Cons: None really. I wouldn't expect thrilling performance from anything IDE but it works for what I wanted it to do.

Other Thoughts: I just bought this for an OS drive, it's not under heavy use in my environment.

Pros: I KNOW NOW NOT TO CONTACT NEWEGGS TECH SUPPORT FOR ANY REPLACEMENTS YOU NEED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER IF YOU WANT TO GET THINGS DONE RIGHT AND FAST. THANKS NEWEGG FOR THE TECH SUPPORT. MIGHT NOT ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH

Cons: NOTHING GOOD ON THE PHONE WITH WESTERN DIGITAL THEY TELL ME THESE DRIVES ARE HAVING PROBLEMS, NOT HAPPY WITH NEWEGGS SUPPORT TEAM JUST SPENT 3,000 ON PARTS AND I HAVE TO SHIP THESE DRIVES BACK AND ITS GOING TO TAKE 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS TO GET THE APPROVAL OF THE RETURN ON THE DRIVES NOT A GOOD MOVE NEWEGG
