5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: it lasts :) 5 years and counting

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: this is the oldest component of my pc and it has outlived multiple other hard drives my wd 2tb green edition didn't even last half as long as this one and this is still going in fact i just re-installed windows 7 to it because the ssd i was using died too after only 7 months when this good old wd blue 250 is on 5 years now and still running strong

4 out of 5 eggsWD has done me right

Pros: used in a 24x7 box and worked great for 34 continuous months of moderate use.

Cons: drive motor failed.

In warranty (see other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: So RMA'd this with less than 2 months for the warranty remaining. Spent $10 to ship the failed unit to California from New York..... AND Western Digital sent me a BRAND NEW (manufactured FEB 2013) replacement.

so I would normally take two eggs away for the failure, but WD to their credit, did not replace an older failed drive with a refurb unit. So only minus one egg.

5 out of 5 eggsGoing strong

Pros: Had HD since 2010 as primary drive. I have it partitioned several times, but the Windows (7 N) is on this drive. I say that just to note that it is in fact used as a primary drive quite well.

Cons: No Cons to report

Other Thoughts: Good deal at the time of purchase. Hard or impossible to beat NEgg's price!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat hard drives that keep on kickin

Pros: I have had two of these drives running in RAID0 for two and a half years now. I have never reformatted or re-created the array. They run fast and they have been solid all this time, writing and reading data 24/7 with an uptime of 99% or better.

Cons: They seem to have gotten slower over the years but some degradation is to be expected, and they are mostly full all of the time as of now. Time to add more space.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to buy these, do!
