Manufacturer WarrantyBeyond any applicable Newegg return policy, this item is warranted independently by the product's Manufacturer. Below is a summary provided for convenience only and may not be accurate or current.
Read full details.
Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (parts): 2 years
Manufacturer Limited Warranty period (labor): 2 years
Cons: Zero frills. This OEM, so know that you aren't getting screws or cables. Not an issue for me though.
Other Thoughts: My first time with a 5400 green drive. Complements my SSD nicely. I don't trust the 2TB drives, so I'll just grab a second one of these if I need the space.

Rating: 5/5ONLY 1 YEAR WARRANTY
Pros: Lots of storage. Low power. Spins down when idle for 5 (?) minutes. Best for archival storage.
Cons: !!! Only a 1 year warranty. All WD Blue drives have 3 year warranties, and all Black drives have 5 years. WHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU ?
Other Thoughts: The lack of confidence that WD has for this drive by giving such a poor warranty period indicates that YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRIVE. Spend just a few more buck and get a Blue or Black drive.

Rating: 2/5Good...for a while
Pros: Drive worked for over a year with absolutely no issues and was on pretty much 24/7 during that year in my custom HTPC, Western Digital Customer Service
Cons: Switched out my other terabyte drive for a 1.5er and suddenly this drive began to crash...multiple times. Four windows installations later and my desktop was telling me its a bad drive (as was the windows 7 install) and the SMART diagnostics were totally failing...luckily I still got my data off.
Other Thoughts: Did an RMA with western digital and they sent me a newer (better) version of this drive for free over UPS 2nd day air, very simple no questions asked RMA. Customer service was great! Thanks WD!

Pros: Simple installation, reliable 24x7 operation, fast enough.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: When I bought this it was fairly expensive. Works great in an old machine running Linux.

Rating: 5/5Works
Pros: The drive underwent multiple wipes and re-writes without a hiccup. Works as advertised.
Cons: None to speak of so far.
Other Thoughts: Some reviewers mentioned issues with the speed of the drive. I haven't noticed those problems occur. I use this drive in a Win 7/ OS X hackintosh and it works perfectly in either operating system.

Rating: 1/5Great buy if you don't mind losing countless hours of hard work
Pros: The only thing I will say is that it preformed well when it worked!
Cons: 3 months and it is nothing more than a lame excuse for a door stop.
Other Thoughts: I bought the drive mid January of this year. Here its the first week of April and my drive failed with absolutely no warning. I ran a few scans and the drive has several bad sectors. Given that I have read several eerily similar reviews, I would have to think its no coincidence. This was my first WD hard drive. Needless to say it will also be my last. Hundreds of hours of work all gone.

Rating: 1/53 months and died
Pros: 1TB or 930GB of space and worked great while it was alive
Cons: Died in 3 months of average use and I didn't even see it coming. It worked the night before and when I got home the next day it booted up to the disk read error. I ran a test to see if it was okay and it failed with many bad sectors. This is my first hard drive that has died without any other cause (my last caviar black was fried by my old 400w psu)
Other Thoughts: Hopefully I can get my money back and buy a much more reliable HDD
