2 out of 5 eggsSoftware not included

Pros: Handy to use, software installs easily, ready to use.

Cons: You have to purchase the software that comes pre-installed in order to use it.

Other Thoughts: WD Anywhere Backup is great, but it costs to use.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Drive

Pros: Love the nice drive. The 320GB drive is sizable for most applications. The USB 2.0 is pretty fast. I use it for constant data transferes both readign from the drive and for moving data to and from computers. Works just as I expected.

Cons: I would have loves to have e-sata on it buy I knew what I was buying when I bought it. (This is not a con)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sturdy, nice finish. Great price. Quick arrival.

Cons: USB cable is pretty dang short, wasn't toomuch of a problem considering I have front ports available. Speed seems to be lacking, but maybe my expectations are too high. Getting anwhere from 3.5mb/s to 9mb/s depending on the load on the CPU. Copying 90GB took leaving the drive copying overnight.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat drive so far

Pros: Cool color, non glossy finish, sliding door over usb slot with a row of white LED's that dance during drive activity. comes with little "jewel sack" case. the cable is longer than the normal 6" you usually get with a pocket hdd.

Cons: 250gb is a wimpy drive nowadays but its better than my 8 gig flash. its FAT32!?

Other Thoughts: Nice drive so far, my first WD 2.5" portable bit the dust after a year so I picked up this one. Formatted it immediately in NTFS, could care less about the bloatware that comes on the drive.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little drive

Pros: Small size, feels sturdy, decent software included, and very fast for USB. Now 250MB may be a bit small for some but very good for the price. Soft shell looks and feels nice.

Cons: LED lights came loose first day but does not effect operation. USB 2.0 only (no firewire). Backup software needs to be registered or it will be just a 30 day trial version but no mention of this on package or in instructions (Thank goodness Reg# is included). Would not work on my desktop's front USB connectors nor on a unpowered hub. Works fine on powered hub, back connections and oddly enough my old IBM laptop.

Other Thoughts: Registration for the backup software can be found on a sticker on the "quick setup" sheet (lower right side). This turns it into the full version so don't loose that paper. It's very easy to miss. Carrying "case" is just a cloth bag, not much protection offered but drive and cable do fit in nicely.

3 out of 5 eggsNewegg is getting sloppy on packaging

Pros: I have my own 250G Passport, this one is a birthday present. My original passport is fine and that is why I bought this one as a gift.

Cons: I think Newegg is getting too big and starting to lose customer focus. They cancelled a laptop that I preordered and won't offer a comparable replacement. They shipped the passport in an UPS Express Pad Pak when is should have been placed in a box. The passport packaging arrived torn, hopefully the harddrive is ok.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is starting to lose what made them so great- Customer focus, low prices, attention to detail. I just purchased items to build my computer from T.D.(had to abbreviate to get through newegg's filter) because the prices were better.

5 out of 5 eggsSlick

Pros: This is a well designed drive, I think. The surface is the "soft-touch" surface, no finger prints, class look. The port for the USB connection has a sliding cover that goes over it. The cover has little lights that are not bright at all to indicate on and disk activity. Seems to work well and runs just as fast as other portables that I have.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I got this on a Shell Shocker deal. Good price and free shipping. I ordered it on 12/9 (way early in the day) and it got here 12/10. Comes with a little draw-string cloth bag too.
