Pros: Plugged it into my mac book pro, was detected right away. Plugged it into my windows xp pc, worked without a hitch. Great portability makes it ideal for anyone needing a nice portable hard drive. Firewire is very nice too.

Beware re: using firewire

Pros: Nice size. Comes with a pouch.

Cons: This drive does not work by firewire with a MacBook (2.4GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB memory). I talked with WD three times, tried different tests, and in the end they said it wouldn't work with this laptop. The drive works with USB, but the firewire does not get enough power from the MacBook (I tried it out on a MacPro and it worked fine). And I bought it for the fireware capability.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if WD would list which Macs each drive does and doesn't work with.

Pros: It's a great drive. Very fast on Firewire and USB.
Runs with Apple's Time Machine. I love this drive.
